Parking Charge Notice - ticket machines weren't wo

Hi all
I was wondering if you could advise me.
I received a PCN to say that I hadn't paid for a ticket at a Euro Car Park in Belfast. I arrived at the car park at 0820 and left at 0845. This was because the ticket machines weren't working. I tried phoning the number on the board but couldn't get through on two occasions. As I had to be in work for 0900 I left and parked at a car park down the road.
I filled in the Euro Car Park appeal form to say it's unfair and outlines the reasons above. I said I was the driver.
What should I do if they don't accept my appeal? The only evidence I have are the logs of the calls I made to their telephone number that morning. I also have a text to a friend from that day to say I'd nipped back to buy another ticket for the other car park (didn't have enough change to pay for the full day that morning). My line manager would also recall me coming in stressed and explaining the situation that morning (I had to step out for a few minutes outside lunch break to buy the other ticket). If they didn't accept my appeal I'd raise the question of why I turned up to a car park for 20 mins before the shops opened and why I'd parked at at car park down the road.
Grateful for any advice.
Thanks

This is a scam and finally Parliament is going to close down these parasites. Make a complaint to your MP.

PaulSimon, have a look at the first post in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky/pinned thread where you will see a question and answer which explicitly addresses parking incidents that take place in Northern Ireland.
Oh dear, disappointing to see that they already know who the driver is.0 -
Thanks. Yes, I'm kicking myself0

Can I ignore future correspondence from them or is that unwise as they have my name? Really angry at this - THEIR machines weren't working, when I phoned twice I got the "operator busy" message. With the clock ticking and me having to be at my desk by 0900 I left to park elsewhere.0

It's such a shame that you appealed AND gave away the driver's identity, when all you had to do was ignore the scammers.
All you can do now is complain to the landowner and your MP whilst you ignore everything else unless the PPC tries court.
When you complain, tell the landowner what the MPs said about the unregulated private parking industry during the debate in parliament on Friday.
Cowboy companies, signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued, rogue parking companies, bloodsuckers, absolute disgrace, rogue operators, unfair charges and notices, wilfully misleading, signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead, unreasonable, designed to trap innocent drivers, a curse, harassing, operating in a disgusting way, appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing, loathed, outrageous scam, dodgy practice, outrageous abuse, unscrupulous practices.
These are all actual quotes by various MPs who are sick of the private parking scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks0 -
Does giving my name and appealing it validate it in some way?0
-
Giving away the driver does mean they have someone to pursue all the way to court if that's what you mean.
(Doesn't follow they will win,)0 -
Ok, thanks.0

I didn't upload my screenshots of my call logs to the euro car telephone number (to pay). What happens if this appeal fails? Can I appeal again (with the call logs and a photo of the ticket I purchased at a neighbouring car park a few mins after I left the euro car park)?0
-
Of course the appeal will fail. There is NO 'appeal'!
You then do nothing, stop taking the bait. In NI you should have ignored the idiots from the outset.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
