Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
No walk this morning, its wet, supposed to clear up so may get out this afternoon. In fact he has just gone back to bed......hey ho
I slept ok but am a bit tired after yesterdays drive, I hate going into the City and the bit I went into is near to a humongous shopping centre so the traffic is something else, I also had to tackle part of the M1 which I hate for the same reason.
Towels in the wash they will have to go in the dryer........
No idea what to have for supper depends on how OH is later.0 -
Morning all
Damp and dreary here. Dh and friend have just gone off to a model railway exhibition in Yate. talk about two schoolboys let out of school!
I have no plans for today except some housework if I cba. I left some ironing for today and then there's the bathroom.....I have a load of washing too which will have to go on the radiator airers later. I got washing neatly dry outside yesterday including DD's so pleased with that.
We had a nice visit with DD yesterday afternoon. DH dropped me off and went to pick up DGS from nursery. She was feeling better but had nothing in mind for dinner. So DH and I popped to Sainsbugs as she fancied curry. We bought one of those boxes for two and a few extra bits and it was delicious. I had rice, veggie curry and tarka dahl, with an onion bahji , raita and a bit of naan bread.
Dinner tonight is Pad Thai using a kit from the supermarket. DH is quite partial since he discovered it. I will just have the veg and no prawns.
Well I hope all the sleepless ones have a better night tonight.
Hugs and spoons all round.
Have a good Saturday.

Thanks SR for the non-medical advice! I have tried various Dr Bach remedies over the years but not white chestnut. Anything is worth a try and if I get in town today I will pop in H & B. (If not I will browse Amazon)
We have had all weathers this morning, including a rather heavy snow shower. Fortunately it didn't last and reverted back to rain. Now we have sleet!
Just had a text from AO.com saying they are still on track for delivering the wm tomorrow. They say they deliver from 7.00 a.m. but will text 4 hours before delivery!! I know I get up early but not as early as 3.00 a.m. Hopefully I will get a slot at a more civilised time!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all. Delurking to say I’ve been really impressed by AO. Once I ordered a fridge/freezer. I had carefully measured the width and depth of the space in my kitchen but made an assumption about the height. Well guess what? The delivery arrived, drivers pulled out old fridge and loaded on van and then found new fridge was too tall for the space by about 2cm. They didn’t grumble at all just brought old one back into kitchen. About 2 hours later I got a call from their sales centre with a list of fridge freezers that would fit for me to chose from. I was so impressed at that extra touch. I know it ensured their sale but even so I thought it was great customer service. I don’t tell many people that story as they look bemused at my lack of measuring rather than impressed by the customer service!0

Morning all
Raining here so washing will have to go in the td. OH has gone to Aldi (he is obsessed with that shop) to do the main shop and I shall nip to Mr T later for the few bits we cant get in Aldi.
Going to have a quick tidy round after this and nip to the shop, this afternoon I shall watch a film on the sofa and may inspect the inside of my eyelids.
Dinner tonight is going to be some fresh pasta with some king prawns and some other seafood (depending on what's on offer) I shall do it in garlic with a cream cheese and chilli sauce, im sure there will be wine too
Tru glad to see you posting I was getting worried about you xx
I ordered some new lever taps for the bath as I struggle to turn the taps on and off with my arthritis as the taps are very stiff, they turned up yesterday and are so lovely that Ive now ordered new basin ones, I shall add these to the list for OH to do
Right I had better do something, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly, hugs to those in need.
I slept better last night though a few hours in the company of dgd and a nice walk between a lock and a swing bridge probably helped.
Tru, CHS has a big one too, lol! Drill bit that is.
Another vote for ao I found them very helpful.
We are moored by a small bridge, it's quite cloudy but the solar panels are getting a trickle charge and it's enough to run the fridge and internet.
We will move off this afternoon sometime.
Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning chums and commiserations to those who are in the 'can't sleep' club.
I can't remember a time when I slept more than three hours at a stretch, but then my joints do play me up dreadfully ,especially in the damp weather.
I have compromised and sleep when I am tired in as much as I go to bed around 11 then read until at least 12.30-1, sleep until around 3.30, then either read or surf for half an hour or so then nod off again for another hour or so I am always up and about by 6.30 at the latest , breakfast around 7.30 potter around , feet up by 10, and knit, watch tv or read in the armchair .Usually means I can hopefully get an hour's 'nanna nap' in before I am up and about again.I use my TiVo box quite a bit so if I nod off and miss a programme I can rewind it back to watch
I sleep in fits and bursts really. But it suits me. As I am also often rushing around doing other things for DD and my DGS they know if I am at their house and cat nap for 10 minutes I am just recharging my batteries.:)
When I was working I could pull over in my taxi and take a half hours nap during a quiet period with no problem I think that fact I can cat nap helps no end In fact if I sleep more than 4 hours ( a rarity ) it gives me a rotten headache
Well today is a damp and chilly one by the looks of it ,so I am glad not to have to be going out anywhere today. I have promised my friend I will knit a couple of Christmas bells to see how long it takes to make them and which ones she want to be made for sale for her charity. I have the prototype pattern and will time myself this afternoon. She has snaffled me quickly before the British Legion ask me to knit poppies again.
We will have a 'Big Knit-in' at Rochester Cathedral this September for her Making Miracles charity and the ladies will get the opportunity to knit either squares for the baby blankets, or Christmas bells to sell at the Dickens festival to raise funds for the charity. So I will sort out which of the patterns is easiest for folk to use then we will get them printed off.
I have a birthday next week and so far I have had three vouchers arrive through the post, one from Dobbies, for a pot of tea for two plus two cream sconesI'll take one of my neighbours to that one as she doesn't get out much, and I can drive her there.
Plus a main meal freebie from two separate pub chains that I have a loyalty card fromso I will be eating well this month
save cooking I guess
Right time to get the coffee pot brewing
Hope you all have a good weekend
Take care and keep warm and dry if you can

Hello all.
The thesis is FINALLY submitted. After 5 years. With 45 mins to spare! We spent all of yesterday driving after 4nights of very little sleep. I had to drive DH on Thursday to get it printed and bound - DH wasn!!!8217;t in a fit state to drive.
DH and I are now sitting in our very nice AirBnb in Truro shouting at the TV. We spent the morning driving round the area to try and get some concept of times/distances, and how many of the places I!!!8217;ve booked to view are actually feasible.
Truro is seriously hilly. I think I may have to get a bike though as the traffic is awful even in January.
So far I approve though - Waitrose and Aldi. I!!!8217;ve looked at 1 gym. Will look at the other later. We found an excellent Curry place last night - right at the end of one of the streets we are looking at. This might be a very bad idea.
Judi I hope the family settles. Jackie Glad Frank!!!8217;s send off went well.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
It is a wet and cold dark day so I am glad I don't have to go out. Had a really good sleep last night and made a late breakfast of a bacon, tomato and cheese omelette as I slept in till eleven!
Middle dd is picking me up tomorrow around twelve to drive me to York where we are meeting up with other dds and sil to go indoor bowling and a catch up. Other dd and sil are driving me back home and I have some baby presents for them to pick up which I hope they like.
No idea what to cook tonight and am running low on bread and eggs etc so will check the freezer and see what I fancy. Might cook some leek and potato soup as I have the ingredients.

When I read about your taps I realised that when I had the kitchen and bathroom redone I had automatically chosen lever taps and am glad that I did.
Hugs to all0 -
Just popping in to pay my subscription for the No Sleep Club.
My usual is: Go to bed about midnight; Mr LW nods off straight away, and I lie awake with every possible worry fighting for pole position in my brain, til exhaustion finally claims me, at about 03:30. Wake up again when Mr LW gets up for his 04:00 loo break. If I'm lucky, get back to sleep a little while after he returns from the loo. Wake up again for his 06:00 loo break (why he can't manage to get out of bed without hoiking the duvet off me and kicking me is one of life's mysteries). Wake up for the alarm at 06:30.
As Judi has often been known to say, Bah!!That's why I don't bother with TV...never anything to watch:D
The way it works is thus: every Saturday, when he gets his newspaper (he only has the Saturday edition) he looks at the tv guide and marks with a highlighter all the programmes he wants to watch that week.
I then take the tv guide from him, and programme everything he's marked into the $ky box for recording; this means that at least I don't have to sit through a bunch of adverts, because I absolutely refuse to watch tv when it's broadcast, such is my dislike of ads.
Unfortunately, 99% of what he wants to see is, in my view, utter drivel; but we only have the one "reception room" I think they are called in Estate Agent parlance, so I can't go and sit elsewhere - also he tends to put a programme on when we sit down to eat dinner, so I'm stuck with putting up with the drivel.:(
Oh well in the grand scheme of things, it's a minor matter; once we've eaten I can always go and wash up straight away if the programme he's watching is truly execrable.Otherwise I grab my cross stitch and do some of that til the programme's finished.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
