Forcing people onto pip

I have a local compliance telephone interview next week about a malicious complaint about my dla. I've been reading online that when a report comes in of a potential dla fraud a pip claim pack is issued to the claimant, now if the complaint is malicious and the claimant has to make a pip claim and doesn't qualify or doesn't get any points they can lose their car and everything. Is this correct because I know that loads of people are losing their motability cars every week due to pip, is the information correct that people are being forced into claiming pip??:mad:

Do you actually know that a complaint has been made. Id so how do you know.
People are being moved from dla to pip as a matter of course

If compliance is involved then either there's been a complaint or the DWP have other information suggesting fraud may have been committed. If the OP isn't committing fraud then it's likely to be a complaint, either maliciously or because someone doesn't understand the rules.

OP, I don't know if it automatically means a change to PIP but it will happen sooner or later anyway. Migration has been going on for a few years now so it can't be much longer before you're moved. I'd suggest researching PIP, looking at the descriptors and keeping a diary so that you can fill the forms in as thoroughly as possible. Hopefully you'll have a straightforward transfer.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

If DWP know the complaint is malicious, ie wrongful, they won't call the person complained about for interview. In this instance they presumably either believe there may be basis for the complaint, or simply don't have enough evidence to be sure one way or the other.
If a complaint is received and is believed to be credible, they have a duty to investigate.

I received a letter for a local compliance telephone interview, and when I spoke to the compliance officer he said it's for dla benefit fraud, somebody has reported you, but then I read online as it's a telephone interview it's probably because they've noticed income coming into your bank account and you've not notified them although they told us we didn't need to??
  • Xylophone I'm curious as to what the above quote were for. Were you answering the question about how I knew what the interview was for?? The officer told me why I had the interview because I asked him, and the fostering allowance into my bank shouldn't be an issue as it's from the local authority and nil profit and we called everybody dwp, dla, hmrc and they all said it's not counted as income and it's my wife who does all the physical stuff not me so doesn't affect my benefit.
  • I think you'll find the dwp have a duty to investigate ALL reports of benefit fraud when reported, if a malicious report Is made and they can tell it's not credible in any way shape or form fine they won't investigate. I know it's malicious because I'm aware of my disability and also since fostering in my local area I've had complaints made to a few different people and had my car vandalised twice by foster children's parents or friends

Every adult who currently receives DLA has to transfer to PIP in the next year or so, many of us have already had to. That's not anyone singling you out or targeting you, it's because the benefits system has changed.

Clearly....McKneff asked how you knew there had been a complaint...answer, you had been told.
  • I know the system has changed, it has been published on many other forums since 2015 that the dwp have been sending out pip claim forms under the right payment programme to dla claimants as if they are self selectors to apply for pip, if somebody reported you to the benefit hotline rightly or wrongly
  • Xylophone it just seemed a little terse in my opinion that's all
