The OP is probably one of the posters you're thinking of (they had an issue with their mother and brother trying to use them to finance a car purchase). I assume their username was changed due to it containing personal information.
OP - You working more will not affect your mother if she isn't claiming any benefits. It will help you save up to get away from her a bit quicker, though.
I did think that, but the OP in this thread joined in 2016.
OP, if you are the poster Penitent suggested then there's a thread on the disability board that you will find very useful.
It's this one:

I do feel abused financially from my mother because I paid her £20 towards lodge as I!!!8217;m living with her then she gave it back to me earlier tonight. She!!!8217;s not putting myself in the best interests and does make me feel suicidal sometimes.
She wanted me to pay lodge after claiming in text messages that she can’t pay it on her own as a single parent on her low wage as a carer. I lose the term “carer” loosely. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Have you read the thread I linked to? The OP there was in a similar situation and he's made a lot of big changes quite quickly.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
It's difficult to read some of the posts because random numbers are there. However, it appears that the OP has been asked by his mother to pay £20 towards board and lodgings, which seems reasonable to me (actually, it seems very cheap). I don't understand why the mother then returned the money though.
As a single carer, the mother will probably be receiving £62.70 Carer's Allowance per week, plus £45 income support (that's what I receive). I'm aware that there is help towards housing, council tax, etc on top of this. However, asking her son to contribute £20 (a week?) towards household costs does not seem unfair to me.
Obviously as the OP states that his mother makes him feel suicidal and offers little in the way of care, it may be that living with his mother is not the best place for him to be. He would need to pay a lot more than £20 to live elsewhere though. It is also possible that the OP doesn't recognise just how much his mother does for him in the way of care.0 -

I'm glad i'm not the only one seeing this. It's been happening randomly for me for a few days. Very annoying and it does make reading some replies very difficult.0 -
OP has had a name change, and is one of the posters you are referring to. I hope he doesn't mind me saying, I'm only doing so because the posters that have commented will be supportive, but the back story is relevant.
If I recall correctly OP's mum exaggerated his PIP claim and claims Carers Allowance without providing care. She does very well financially from the OP.
We've all said it before, but OP please please speak to someone about your situation. Perhaps it would be helpful to contact the poster from the other thread for mutual support?0
