the edge of the door slammed into me. It could be another week if i still feel dizzy.

    Jeez.
    Is this a self-diagnosed concussion?

Well yes, it 'feels' like one.

Maybe I'm lucky but I have no idea what a concussion feels like!

In my case, such pain that I couldn't stand or sit up and couldn't stand any light anywhere near me. I just lay on the settee in the dark groaning and unable to move for 12 hours.
(That was self diagnosed as well as I was too ill to seek medical help.)

I hope you went on the internet for help a few days later if you still felt concussed!

Didn't have time. I was back at work by then. :)

  • The fact that the OP refuses to answer the question "what did the doctor say?" speaks volumes IMO

It's almost certainly possible for the door closer to be adjusted, and asking for that to be done would be a very good thing to do. And it is entirely possible that the person who would arrange for this to be done is completely unaware of the problem.

Completing an accident report would probably get this sorted.

You’re not off sick, it’s a workplace injury.
It is still time off sick. There is no magic waiver for injuries that happen in the workplace, even if there is evidence of employer negligence. An employer might allow for such time to be discounted, if they wish to do so. But they don't have to. In this case, there appears to be no accident report, no witness, no medical evidence of injury... and a history of sickness absence. If that is the case, I doubt they'll be amenable.

If the OP dislikes their employment so much, one wonders why they don't get another job?
