Anyone here entered it? You buy the Oats tart it up and post your picture and you could win £10,000.
For me i like Oats but would not add the stuff in the winning pictures. It seems they have gone for professional photographers with the latest winner (taken from a post) "Professional in digital marketing and photography. Lots of her stuff is paid that's been commissioned by large food brands"
It seems this competition is not for every day folk like myself that might have one or 2 toppings, But for people that spend £1.50 on oats and £10 on topping and 2 hours making there breakfast!
For me its about the taste of the oats not the amount of stuff you can add to it to take the taste away!
Seems to be going for the best dressed photos so seems fixed to me.

Not necessary fixed, it is judged so the best would be expected winAll valid entries (subject to moderation) from each week will be judged by independent judge, PromoVeritas and then the entries with the highest scores will be reviewed by a separate expert panel of judges (which shall include at least one independent judge).
Judging criteria: images submitted should be practical to make, display a balanced range of toppings, a balanced range of flavours, and be visually appealing.
Each of these four categories counts for 25% of the final score of an image.0 -

At the moment the week 2 winning picture is displayed under the entry form

Then this is what one person posted. "Professional in digital marketing and photography. Lots of her stuff is paid that's been commissioned by large food brands"
The main point i am trying to make here is, Normal people just won't spend that much time or effort in the morning for a bowl of oats! I would have to give up my wine to be able to afford to do that lol.Jan Wins: .0 -
It is the same photo, causing a few arguments along the line.0

I spent an hour - more if you include shopping and planning - on each of my entries, they still weren't as good but yes some of us total amateurs would make the effort. But then I don't like wine so...2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400 -
It's getting a bit silly now. Another food blogger won this week and included orange with the peel on in her photo. Apart from the Lucky Learner in the first week, they've all been very professional photos and the prize seems to have been about the photo not the recipe.0

I should imagine quite a lot of recipes score a full or near full 25% in the first 3 categories so the visually appealing category, although only worth 25% of the vote, could play a large part in what gets through to final selection with images that are less than "professional" quality some way away from possible top marks.0
