When does saying I have heard mean the dwp spoke to me directly and put in writing this is a fact??
I have heard God is real
I have heard Elvis is alive
does it make it fact of course it doesn't we both know it is not a proven fact but both of those statements have people believing in them. If your going to post being rude to me then I have to justify why your being rude to me all the time. I said something once so now I have a reputation for posting wrong information when I still disagree that your original problem with me is not wrong. but then i guess everything you say is guaranteed factual isn't it.

    hey dude

don't know what the story is behind you having a problem with this other member

but tbh when i first read your post, although you didn't say it was fact, just something that you'd heard, it does imply it was something that you yourself had given credibility to, in fact to the point where you thought it relevant to let the OP know you'd heard that this was a practice implemented by the dwp.

i'm sure you've heard elvis is alive, we all have, but if reading a thread about elvis would you tell people on that thread to add credibility to a theory he was alive that you had also heard this(albeit from drunk barry down the pub on a friday night after 8 pints)

    probably not

you'd discount that info and not give much credibility to it

but when you relay info you've heard to another party like you did it implies you yourself also believe it to have a certain level of credibility otherwise, like with the elvis analogy, you would have just discarded it

when i read it i thought really, logistically how would that work, i've never heard of it and can't imagine it being practical, but as a member hear and being of a reasonable intellect, i'd trust that if you're putting forward something you've heard to someone as way of advice, then that in turn is advice you believe in and endorse, if not then why post it in the first place?

so i can kinda see why folk are a bit upset it made me quickly question my pre-existing understanding of how the dwp operates in certain situations

You're well known here for giving incorrect advice. I rest my case.

Perhaps speak to your doctors first to make sure that it is a permanent improvement. .

OP - (if you are still around!).

    I would second Ames suggestion.
And remember that PIP looks at what you can do reliably for the majority of the time (over 365 days).

The other thing I would do is a self assessment (perhaps with a family member) to check if that your current PIP score, does reduce you to the standard rate (8 points) from the enhanced rate (12 points).

If your self - assessment still shows you qualifying for enhanced without (or with reduced) points for the dressing activity then (IMO) there is little point in notifying the DWP. However, if it gives a standard award then do inform them of the permanent improvement in your condition.
