Jackie O Thoughts are with you today. No doubt it will be a really sad day for you all and particularly poor Margaret. hope it goes as well as possible
Nothing much to report here... I have the carpet cleaner coming this afternoon so have spent hours cleaning up for him:D does anyone else clean up for the cleaners ?
Had my second meal of steak and kidney pie with mash last night ..loads of mash left so its sausage mash and beans tonight which will mean lots of left over sausages for something else tomorrow ...its a complex business planning meals when you are a oneski its like a relay race
nipping out after this to get some cash out for the carpet man going to ask him to do do a bit extra in the hallway if he isn't going to charge too much. Few bits of shopping to get whilst im out but nothing much
Right best move have a good day all :A0 -
Hi everyone.
I'm late again, I don't know where the time has gone today.
The weather was lovely but freezing this morning when we went to town. I needed to call in the library because they have a council kiosk in there and I wanted some food waste bags. Also did the bank, H Bargains for a top up of Mr Fix It's sweetener ( failed to get the one he likes last time ) and the £ shop for some extra plastic soldiers for DGS as he's having a sleepover tomorrow night. Apparently one battalion isn't enough for him AND Mr Fix It :rotfl:. Met a few people in town that we haven't seen for a while, so it was lovely to catch up.
This afternoon the weather is confused, it doesn't know whether it wants to rain sleet or snow, unfortunately the wind is still bitter. I can't get warm even though the heating is on and I'm wrapped up like the michelin man !
We have decided on the firm for the new double glazing, so this afternoon we have made an appointment for Monday to discuss the type of doors we want. We are also going to bite the bullet and replace the rear window in the living room with patio doors :j.
Dad did come to tea yesterday and even complemented me on the pork steaks. Tea tonight will be a chicken and bacon pie with HM roasted mediterranean veg.
OK I'll shut up now as you're probably bored stiff, I'm even boring myself :rotfl:.
JackieO I am thinking of you, Frank, Margaret and the family today. I hope Frank has a good send off.
Speky enjoy your date night with your gran.
Hope everyone is having a good day. Keep safe and warm and the hug bucket is full so please help yourselves.

Karcher have a (((HUG))); I'm a worrier, too - heck, even if we have Mr LW's pal over, and the evening goes completely fine, I still lie awake churning the entire evening's conversation over and over in my head for at least the next two nights!
This is part of why I avoid socialising at all unless I positively cannot get out of it.
Jackie I do hope Fighting Frank's final Journey went well; I'm certain he will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.I think some whale music is in order today....Either that or a bit of Sam Smith (again). If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon folks. Well once the decision was made to have a new kitchen we haven't let the grass grow under our feet! We had a quick browse in B & Q and Homebase (sadly nearest Ikea is miles away REDRUBY) for ideas and then went to a local family run business to have a look at their showroom. As our DIY days are behind us we wanted someone to see the job through for us from start to finish - removing old units, fitting new ones, new appliances, tiling, flooring etc and they have been recommended by a few people we know. So an appointment has been booked for Tuesday for the boss man to measure up, discuss ideas etc and price it all up! Eeeek when we looked at prices this morning I was glad we didn't have a big kitchen!
I have just been on AO to look at washers as we have had our Hoover washer donkey's years and really feel it must be living on borrowed time now! Plus the door needs a helping hand with a screwdriver to prise it open!! I am rather tempted by a Haier as they get excellent reviews and I feel sure a couple of people on here have mentioned having one. I am thinking HOLLYHARVEY could be one - am I right and if so are you happy with it?
We still have other jobs that need doing (new back fence, new bathroom window and some decorating) so much belt tightening will have to be done and get back to frugal living for a while!
Have a nice evening folks xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Afternoon everyone.
Late post from me too. My morning was spent in a ‘virtual’ meeting via the laptop. Luckily I wasn’t needed for much of it so I managed to do some tidying up, washing, putting things in the back barn type things for a lot of it. I kept one ear open for any mention of my name.
Driving down was fraught because of the large number of roadworks being done. Not a complaint as the A83 is in an atrocious state and all the work is badly needed. So many people have shredded tyres or bent alloys or broken suspensions because of the huge potholes. There was only really one jam when a large crane at one set of roadworks fell off the side of the road and ended up in a ditch. It’s still there.
Anyway, with DM for a couple of days.
Thinking of JackieO and her family - I’m sure that Frank was remembered and celebrated in grand style.0 -
Evening.
Late post from me. Thanks for the support
I was right I barely slept at all last night and had everything going over and over in my mind. This person really did say some very upsetting and hurtful things and whilst all untrue I can't help but take it to heart.
So today was another difficult day, still mulling things over, going between upset, insulted and angry at the injustice. This virus is lingering too so all in all I feel quite done in and exhausted.
Have a good evening all, take care and stay warm :A x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -

The whole kitchen project sounds exciting, I'm glad that you have got the ball rolling now that you have decided to stay where you are.0 -

I can fully understand how you feel, I'm just the same as you in the way that I mull things over and go over and over what has been said, and take everything to heart, which unfortunately means that I can get hurt easily when other people may have shrugged it off.
I hope that you can get some rest tonight, and find something to try and take your mind off of it this evening.
Take care of yourself. You are still recovering from a very nasty virus as well as having this to deal with. ((hugs)).0 -
Home ill again , this ear infection isn't clearing up ,
I'm on antibiotics now though hopefully the drops will work.
Hugs to everyone and hope things all get better for you shortly and hope February is better than it has been for you all.
Today I've done all the washing up, cleaned the kitchen, Tidied the bathroom a little,
did 1 load of washing then hung it up, now doing another load.
Recycling is out ready for tomorrow.
I'm going to tidy the living room a little and maybe light a candle before the other half gets home,
