Just because its an old car doesnt mean its going to be any cheaper to recover /shift if you have an accident and it cannot be driven to a safe place.

They may deem it to be in an unsafe position and they will get it moved and bill you far more than your cars worth.

  • Like others have said, check with your insurance company regarding what insurance you have or need. But more than that, have you ever driven in Germany? Do you speak German? They have extremely strict road rules regarding the state of cars and where/how they should be driven. For instance Rechts Vor Links in many residential areas, needing Umwelt Plakate to drive in many of the big cities, rules around indicating and overtaking, their speed limits are also in kph and they are right hand drivers. I would suggest you familiarise yourself with all of this, as you will most likely find it is safer, cheaper and easier to get a banger in Germany. I would not recommend driving a british car on the mainland for more than a couple of weeks. You will likely have an unpleasant experience with the police if you drive a british banger on the autobahn with no German language to back you up.

    Dear all,

thanks for all your advises. I have got the reply from my insurer and they said I can only drive up to 90 days in Europe. My policy will be stopped and any remain month will be refunded if I exceed 90 days in Europe.

90 days in a policy year, not in a single trip
