Hiya,
At this time there are 12 caught and gutted ( well most of them) trout still whole though in the bottom of my chest freezer which my DH caught through the autumn lat year, I am now wondering what I can do with them apart from making lots of fish pies...!!:rotfl: Any suggestions please, Thank you x

My son's a keen angler so a I'm no stranger to a surfiet of trout.
Favourites are:
A fillet topped with creamed leeks and wrapped in puff or filo pastry
Fishcakes
Trout pate0 -
I'd wait till the weather was dryer and stick them on the BBQ. It's quite shocking how many fillets I can eat when they have been grilled on the BBQ
Serve with a spicy salsa and HM flat breads0 -
I'm pretty nifty at gutting a fish, but I've never been able to fillet them. OH#1 used to get fish given to him (actual haddock - don't ask...) and he would bring them home in a plastic carrier bag.
We had a lot of fish pies.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0 -
I used to once gutted stuff with mushrooms and diced leek wrap in foil and bake in the oven, top with flaked almonds about ten minutes befor eating and stick under the grill for a few minutes to roast off0

I do this with salmon but would imagine it would work just as well with trout. Spread a little sun dried tomato paste/sauce over the top of fish, bake wrapped in foil. Undo foil and crumble goats cheese on top. Grill until slightly browned and serve.Books - the original virtual reality.

Argh sorry, juice, something green like parsley, use mix to stuff the trout, sprinkle a bit on top and bake at about 180 for about 30 mins. I would remove heads first though.0
