I would not recommend London and Country- they really messed up with our mortgage application!
Our case manager didn't send in a form that was meant to be submitted with the original application and despite us trying to get them to send it, this never happened. The application subsequently lapsed and had to be resubmitted again from scratch. Could not get hold of them for love nor money! The worst is that I spent 2 weeks telling them to submit the form and even found it myself, before emailing it to them and basically filling it in myself. Still didn't get sent.
This whole thing has been so stressful. Next time we will go with a broker who is actually contactable. Really get the feeling that L&C are just a really big and faceless company who go for volume rather than customer service. Very very disappointed.0 -

Had challenging experience with L&C
Strong initial contact in product selection, they also managed to speed up the application to secure a rate. So far, so good. Then the wheels fell off.
We heard nothing for several weeks. They repeatedly sent generic messages talking about high volume, these are unsurprisingly not related to your case.
When dealing with a broker you are not able to access your case via the bank, this meant L&C's admin delays spiraled into a 70 day application which caused the chain to collapse.
We would often contact L&C and find they would produce a document request that they had sat on for days.
They also would reply almost instantly to solicitors and estate agents but not to the customer.
For the record we were not a complex case >85% LTV and were not borrowing anywhere near our limit, so this should have been straight forward.
Our case took 70 days. In context most offers expire in 90, this was how our chain collapsed. We were at the end with no chain and L&C crashed it. The bank involved had a 20 to offer service standard at the time of application, so around 50 are attributable to L&C
To sum up, they might well find you a good product, they also might well cost you the home you were trying to buy.
Check the Facebook comments on L&C's page as another source of user information.

I had it yesterday (evaluation happened on Thursday, the day before). My case is to change the property on a mortgage offer issued by Halifax.0 -

Unfortunately I'm in a position where I've raised a complaint with L&C due to lack of communication. Unfortunately it hasn't had the desired effect - they're great about communicating with me on my complaint, but haven't improved with regards to my mortgage offer.
To the point, I've called the lender myself for updates

My solicitor got the offer and I am giving up at getting the pdf offer through L&C and will just wait to get it via post from the lender. Well at least I got the offer!0 -
I wish I’d read these posts before going through the process of getting latest mortgage. L&C have been a hindrance rather than a help. They have offered no advice at any point and put the sale in jeopardy. Ours was a slightly complicated transaction - 2 individuals selling properties and buying one together. L&C made amendments to the application as we talked through scenarios but did not advise us of what the implications were. In addition, we did get an updated mortgage offer and the product fee was mistakenly added to it and this is the latest error that we are trying to correct. I will not be using them again.0
