Is it still possible to open an account and have full year interest?

You can use this tax years ISA allowance until 5th April 2018.

To get a full year of interest will take a full year from the time you subscribe your money.

Do you have enough interest being paid from other savings for an ISA to be worthwhile, i.e. if a basic rate tax payer, are you earning over £1000 in interest from other accounts, or over £500 if a higher rate payer? If the answer is no then you probably won't benefit from the ISA as you can earn up to those figures in interest without paying tax and cash ISA rates are pretty rubbish and beaten by using interest paying current accounts, regular savers and normal saving accounts.
