I've been using a HP Deskjet+Scanner for about 8 years now. It cost £25 new
So... scanner. You just don't seem to get the quality from those phone app scanners0 -
How is it with gloss?
not sure about the quality as i haven't compared any images i just found it easier/quicker to use than google scan"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -
If you just have a handful and have an android phone with a decent camera, google have an app called 'Photoscan' that takes multiple shots of a glossy photo from slightly different positions (it prompts you with instructions in the app) and combines the result to remove any glare. The effect works quite well on the pictures I've used it for.
If you have a lot to do, this might not be practical. If you work in an office a modern photocopier will usually let you scan multiple photos at once. If not, it might be worth investing in a combined printer/scanner or seeing if local print shops offer a service like that.
Having a quiet browse, read your post, installed your link, tried it out and hey, that's good. So may well find it usefull, thanks,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If you can borrow beg or steal one of these,

By projecting your slides onto a white background about 4 feet away and set up a solid based digital camera just behind the projector you can photograph the image created by the projector. You may have to alter the focus on the projector sometime but you will be able to create digital photos fairly quickly. I have done over 300 most turning out acceptable a sample below

If you have the negatives you can get a holder to place on the scanner bed and the software automatically separates into separate images. If not then place as many photos as fit on bed and again software separates. That's from my memory of doing this about 20 years ago for approx. 1000 photos mainly of young family.0
