If you just have a handful and have an android phone with a decent camera, google have an app called 'Photoscan' that takes multiple shots of a glossy photo from slightly different positions (it prompts you with instructions in the app) and combines the result to remove any glare. The effect works quite well on the pictures I've used it for.

If you have a lot to do, this might not be practical. If you work in an office a modern photocopier will usually let you scan multiple photos at once. If not, it might be worth investing in a combined printer/scanner or seeing if local print shops offer a service like that.

If you have a PC/laptop and a scanner, then that will probably give you the best results.

If you only have an Android phone, then you can install a scanner app that will use your phone's camera to scan the photos in.
    e.g - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.photos.scanner&hl=en_GB

Remember though, if they are important photos, keep more than one copy, on more than one device.

ETA: I see Raxiel got in before me. Only by one minute though. :D

Also bear in mind that a scanner bought on ebay can be used & enjoyed & then sold on, sometimes even at a profit - especially if you've added cables & a disk of drivers...

If you have the negatives, it could be much better than scanning faded, wrinkly photos? Ymmv??

I've used Photoscan to good effects, probably worth saying for the best results you'll need a phone with a decent camera
