Everyone Welcome Anytime of the Month! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Can you please put me down for 2 for the weekend challenge?Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0

5/15 today, I'm hoping I'm on a roll....Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0

Urgh, I've only had 2 AF days this month and I feel horrible, so am trying to start the week with the very best intentions and am planning not to drink at all for the next 7 days.
I went on a bit of a bender yesterday afternoon and ended up ordering a cigarette delivery, gutted as I'd been doing really well not smoking, and what a waste of money. So, this morning I'm a bit delicate but full of resolve to sort myself out as I'm going down a path I don't want to go down.
So, sober and healthy AnnieG starts now.
I hope it's going smoothly AnnieG. That used to be my way of life, and I don't look back on it with any affection at all, but at the time living like that seemed to make sense to me. We've all done it, so don't beat yourself up. Good luck with the rest of January.pollyanna24 wrote: »I must admit I was disappointed to have only lost 1/4 lb this week. I think I had it in my head that the weight would drop off if I wasn’t drinking and then having the inevitable snacks that comes with drinking.
But I guess it has just been one weekend, harrumph.
Tell me about it! I thought I'd lost a couple of pounds, and then found I'd put them back on again. Harrumph, as you say.long time lurker on this thread, finally decided to stick to my NY resolution, 7 days so far and feel so much better, eyes are clearing up and the Gum infection that I thought i had has gone
Welcome Ttoli! Stick with us, and post - it really helps. As the OH hasn't joined me this time doing dry January it's clear that the bad habits wrt wine consumption can be placed with me... the OH can open a bottle, have a single glass and that's it for the evening - I would have at least 2 glasses!
When I was drinking it was quite normal for us to open a second bottle and do a fair amount of damage to it. Now that I'm not, OH stops at one - and that's a glass, not the whole bottle. I never had that kind of willpower. *sigh*
I'm sorry I'm not posting daily - my subscription emails no longer have working links in them, so it's a bit of a faff getting here every day. Will try to do better, but I'm not sure that's going to change. Sorry for letting the side down, especially as I've just been encouraging Ttoli to do so!
9/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
Honey Bear, you're not letting the side down at all - life can get in the way of people posting in various ways - it's always great to hear from you though
Re the links in the email, I never use them, I always go to the MSE forums and then press "user cp" in the green band at the top of the page and it goes straight to a list of all the threads I subscribe to. I don't know if that helps but if the links are not working for you it's an alternative way in.

Thanks Cathybird. It's a change to my routine, and right now that's kind of thrown me. You're right though, it's not difficult to find!Better is good enough.0

3/15 and 3SNC please and going to try for 2 weekend AF as well!
Wish I could stop at one glass of wine too. This thread has helped in reducing so I can’t remember last time I /we opened a second bottle but it certainly used to happen quite often. Clarity of thought after a few drinks clearly diminishes so it always felt ok to open another and probably have some cheese or chocolate too! It’s hardly surprising given the amount of calories in wine and cheese/chocolate that I need to lose weight. Glad others are doing the same, Pollyanna. AnnieG.
Hope potentially stressful meeting can be ignored until closer to it Maman - difficult meetings and situations especially at work often had me reaching for a glass on arrival home. Think that’s to do with having to be very professional and the struggle to contain the feelings during a meeting.0 -
10/21 today - another day working at home as I have my annual squish and screen later this morning. Also need to book in for asthma checkup and another appointment - all the medical stuff seems to come at once!0
