What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Annie if it makes you feel any better I had my own party on Saturday, started drinking in the sunshine in the back garden about 3pm and had my own party which went on until late. By 10 O'clock I was the only one still at my "party," having a great time...! Woke up on Sunday with the hangover from hell. Why, How?? Fatrab[/B was right on with his analysis I too have no stop button. If I start that is it, I just can't stop. Still I hate to admit it, but other then the headache I really enjoyed it. Not sure I should admit this as I've done so well this month, but hey ho!

    20 please Shaggy

No they aren't ever finished, I also look back fondly over our rented flat years ago and think life was so much simpler then!

Did you ever do the blog or thread about building the house GK?

Annie G, that reminded me of the days when I used to think that just having one or two sounded like a good idea. I just got carried away, time after time after time until the last night when I got completely carried away. I think what gave me the impetus to admit I had a problem and make the decision to stop was knowing, absolutely knowing, that I'd gone too far, and that it was only going to go downhill from there. It wasn't a great feeling, but it was the best thing I could have done - face up to the fact that alcohol had a hold over me that I wanted out of my life.

It's a tough habit to break, but that's all it is unless you wake up with the shakes and need a drink to stop them; if that's the case then I'd strongly recommend you go and see your GP. It would be helpful if you can identify why you decided to have the first drink and work out if that regularly triggers drinking that gets out of control.

Sending out for booze is the kind of thing we do when reckless behaviour seems perfectly rational. I made a few reckless choices and fortunately I got away with pretty much all of them. Since stopping - not so much of the recklessness, thank goodness.

I hope you're over the hangover and past the energy slump and depression that used to aflict me after a heavy session. Looking back on it, it took me three days to get back to feeling anythink like normal after a session like that, and if you're still in the throes of it, I hope it passes really quickly.

Life's just simpler without booze for some of us. Good luck with it.

    22/31 please, Shaggy.
    Better is good enough.

So today is number 13 for October, and I'll also go for the remaining 4 nights of the SNC.

Feeling better now, thanks all, I had a huge sleep and am cooking the roast dinner that I was too drunk to get together yesterday.

    Onwards and upwards.
Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.

Could you go out without your purse or card to take the dog out? Or maybe a couple of pounds as a just in case. x

  • Good morning everyone.

22/31 for me, please. Also now halfway through my 100 day challenge. Never believed I could do this and in a bit of shock that I'm still going to be honest. Reading on here every day is really helping, so thank you all.

    Have a good day.
