BTW, re other halves, don't most people still meet them at work anyway? Or through friends or family? ... Most couples I know met via one of those two means, but I'm sure online dating plays a role these days too. And apparently there have even been six marriages via MSE! So there you go :rotfl:
They were the two most common ways of meeting OHs - work or through friends. Lonely hearts columns have, by and large, been replaced by online stuff, but I don't know if that's changed the percentage of people who meet the old-fashioned ways.I met my wife in a kebab shop's car park! :rotfl:
Love it!
Cuppa Tea, that sounds about normal for people who suddenly realise the habit's creeping up a bit - well done for noticing it. It's just so easy to get carried away once the bottle's open. I couldn't stop myself from finishing the bottle once I'd had glass or two, either.
22/28 please, Baileys.Better is good enough.0 -
I am going to call in early for tonight - 7/10 for me please. Going for my monthly massage so won't be drinking

That's a very honest post cuppa. One of the (many:D) things I like about this thread is that although it's not judgemental at all, it still manages to have a degree of accountability. As you said, 'getting it out there' really helps.
I know the feeling of having to finish a bottle of wine. In the early days, progress for me was not opening another:o. I still like the fact that if I want to have a bottle I can. It may sound odd to some people but I'd rather have fewer drinking nights in a week than lots of nights with just one drink. Another thing I do is to have a few G&Ts one night instead of wine. I'm very controlled and bought myself a proper measure so I know I'm only having single measures. Even I wouldn't finish a bottle of gin in an evening:eek: so it really helps me cut down.
