Everyone Welcome Anytime of the Month! What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

Green_Karen wrote: »Watched the Adrian Chiles program tonight. Bit confusing as everyone seemed to be in admiration of his ability to stop drinking therefore wishing they could be like him. However, he was sacked for having a problem with alcohol and was drinking well in excess of 100 units per week, so I think maybe things were toned down so that the public can accept it.
Interesting. Your comment reminded me I wanted to watch it, and I'm about two thirds of the way through but I've got to stop now and get on with something, so I'll come back to it later.
I think it's absolutely brilliant. It deals with all of the internal and societal denial around drinking and confronts the health implications. It wouldn't have made me stop had I seen it when I was drinking, but I can hear in his comments every single argument about alcohol that has ever been articulated.
I particularly liked the statistic that as a society we only admit to consuming half the amount we buy.
28/31 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
