I remember doing a medical through work back in 2011 or 2012, they asked me how many units of alcohol I drank. I remember telling the nurse between 7 & 10 pints (at 2 units per pint). She asked "Per week?" Eh, no. Per night. 10-15 pints on weekend days. She was horrified but I was just being honest and I wasn't alone. There were guys on site drinking a lot more than me.

    Sounds horrific saying that now.

I don't suppose we'll learn anything new from the Adrian Chiles programme but I will probably watch it. He got a huge amount of advance media coverage yesterday and I heard a number of 'experts' speaking on the subject. Many advised having some AFDs each week and also, rather than focus on units completely, just improving on your own current 'score'. I suppose that's about baby steps.

I also heard people speak who recognised they had a problem or were heading for one. One guy said he's given up at New Year and it was easy to start with because of Dry January. Beyond that he's still getting loads of grief from his mates especially when he goes to the pub and chooses not to drink.

    No drinking here today.

11/10 AFDs please Shaggy and 3/4 for the SNC.:)

Afternoon all, change of plan, I went out to lunch with a friend who is going to live in another country and it's the last time we'll have lunch together, so we had a couple of drinks. Back to 17/21.

    16/24 AFDs today
  • 9 AF days tonight and 4SNC.
  • Interesting to catch up everything on here. No more AFDs for me to report. No hangovers either. Thanks for the heads up on the Adrian Childs prigramme. I will take some time not posting on here for a bit but don’t want to just vanish.

    Morning!

Calling in a very early -
    4/4 School nights
    18/28 AFDs
    14/28 TAFDs

I've taken the day off tomorrow to get organised for the wee one's birthday party on Saturday so I'll not be back on here until Monday. Will probably have a drink on Saturday but hopefully not be tempted any other day and won't be having any take away food either.

I'll also commit to 5 School Nights for next week too please Shaggy.

    Thanks :)

    Target Day!!:j

Have a good weekend fabrab and keep away from the party food. It's too easy to just nibble!;)

I'm determined not to drink today. I'll possibly need to collect DD from railway station so that's a good incentive.

Thanks Maman - I really struggled last month for some reason but I am hoping to add a few bonus days next week - am aiming for a 14 day smiley :D

Apologies for generally being so quiet - I had a fall a few weeks ago (not alcohol related I hasten to add ;)) - I sprained my ankle and cracked a rib so have been feeling quite uncomfortable

On the mend now though :)
