    At the moment I'd just like to be mindful of how I'm doing. I am making a conscious effort to cut down. I'd hope that this month will only have 2-3 alcohol days. That said I am going to give the alcohol free beer a go at social events... Surely that doesn't count right?

    Hi Mr_Curious, AF beers are fine, it's the "low alcohol" drinks that are debatable.

    Mrs fatrab and I are starting a serious diet and exercise regime from Monday. We've continued to be a bad influence on each other this year so it stops this weekend. We're off to our favourite curry house on Sunday then on Monday all hell will break loose. Foresee divorce and/or murder within 2 weeks :D:D:D

    Welcome Mr Curious and good luck. I swear by AF beer, but there ar purists and zealots who say that by drinking it I have a problem with alcohol. After four years without booze, I beg to differ but whatever other people want to think is up to them.

    On low alcohol beers, which I tried when I was still drinking, I just drank more of them, but that was just me. Only you know what your target is, and if by being here it encourages you to absorb less alcohol into your system, then whatever works for you is the right strategy.

    Good luck with the weight loss, FatRab. I'm having no luck with it at all, but I now realise that when I'm stressed and overtired my sugar and cheddar consumption goes through the roof, and they're my two foods that guarantee weight gain. I'm still trying to shift 8lbs but that's a lot better than the 12 it's been for a few years. I'm getting there, but it's taking far too long to lose a relatively small amount of weight which is worrying.

    Evening all, 9/21 for me today. It's a really late call - I was meant to be out on the town tonight but it didn't happen and then I thought I might have a drink at home anyway but that didn't happen either and now it's past 10.30pm. So I guess that makes it an AFD! Can't say I'm sorry as if I had gone out it would have been a biggish night out and I would rather be clearheaded tomorrow.
