HI

I'm starting a business and want to have a separate number, but not carry two phones.
Anyone tried

myukvirtualnumber

claims to provide FREE virtual UK mobile number that directs to your phone via VOIP. Also caters for SMS to email delivery.

Sipgate Basic will give you a free VOIP number that can used via a VOIP app like CSipSimple or Zoiper and also via a conventional landline telephone using an adapter.

It also allows you to make outgoing calls showing the virtual number as the CLI from 1p per minute.

Would a dual SIM phone suit you?
  • Already got an Iphone and don't want to change it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

When they issue a phone number, what are the next five digits after the leading zero?

Had a quick look at their website and they claim it’s a UK mobile number and not a personal number.

Slightly more concerning, they say they will disconnect the number if it doesn’t receive at least 30 minutes a month (or pay £5 a month) and no text messages will be forwarded until you receive at least 200 minutes of calls or pay £5.

I definitely think Sipgate’s free 01xx or 02xx service is a better option.

Vyke offer extra virtual mobile numbers - it's operated via their app and their numbers appear to be issued by 3.
