Virgin overcharging for a phone line

Hello,

I looked at new broadband deals to compare against my exsisting virgin broadband. I pay for broadband and phone line.

I have known that I dont have to have a virgin phoneline. However upon starting my contract - over a year ago - they told me it was a cheaper deal to inculde a phoneline. The contract ended but I stayed on the same tarif. But now its cheaper without a phoneline but i wasnt informed of this. I have never plugged in a phone or used it in anyway. Do they not need to inform of changes in the billing or am I being nieve?

  • No - your contract ended so you need to contact them to negotiate a new deal or move on to another ISP.

Otherwise they just keep you on a rolling contract at the cost you were paying before

The prices on the web you are seeing are new customer prices.
You won't easily be able to select one and get a new customer price
