Only an integral garage. And even then, it should be made clear that it has been included.0 -
Is it? .
Most people will struggle.
And it makes little sense as any plans or building work is done in metres. Seems to me the only reason anyone ever uses square feet is because a large number sounds impressive, much like the way tabloid newspapers report the temperature in Fahrenheit on a hot day! Maybe I’m wrong and its just a generational thing but I’m no spring chicken myself!0 -
I'm only 37 but I can't picture sizes in metres.0

Why is that?
See above, but also you measure 1m 45 and you enter 1.45 in the calculation. Measure 6ft 5in and what do you enter? You’d be surprised how many people wouldn’t have a clue what to do at this point. I’ve seen it many times.
There is a reason metric has caught on much more quickly for people who actually measure stuff than it has in everyday conversation!0 -

You'd put 77 in the calculation.
Also you don't actually measure in cms ever in construction you use MM.0 -

It's amazing how many people in the property industry still talk in feet and inches, as opposed to metres.
I find this site can be useful:

Well we live in a countries very mixed up with measurements so we all have our preferences, but the confusion is why we don’t tend to refer to the area of houses at all. In most countries people can visualise a property when you give them the size so the sqm is much more relevant than the number of bedrooms. As to why people in the property industry like feet, I suspect given the shrinking size of properties and the fact that they are smaller than in most comparable countries, not having a population that understands the area of houses is quite convenient! They want the house to sound big, not for you to understand exactly how big it is.0
