Help needed re: flight brought forward 11 1/2 hour

Help needed, booked 10 day holiday to Turkey Sept 17, with Travel Republic, 6 Adults 1 child (age 5), great daytime flights for May 2018, just before xmas flights put back 11/2 hour, will accept, but just had email bringing return flight forward by 11 1/2 hours from 17:30 to 06:00 having to be at airport for 4:00 am, loosing last day of short holiday. I feel this is significant change but been told no refund as less than 12 hours. Obviously had to pay in full for 7 flights, how can we have no rights to anything, refund or compensation and make daytime flights into night flights, FUMING.................:mad::mad:

    Your rights will be outlined in the T&C that you agreed to when booking. Don't get me wrong, the 12 hour rule for what counts as significant changes is pretty ridiculous IMO. It seems to be used mostly by some lesiure airlines like TC. If you fly with a "proper" airline you can usually make changes (or cancel) with smaller changes (e.g. 2-3 hours).
  • Thomson now TUI, T&C state only minor change if less than 12 hours don't count now middle of night getting transfer to airport and cutting short your 10 day holiday, thanks

  • But you gain those hours at the start of your holiday as those flights were moved the same amount.

    I do agree that the 12 rule is awful though.
  • No, the flights going out have been put back 1 and half hour so totalling 13 hours but they will not class them together so loosing both ways

    Have you asked if there is a later flight you can travel on? Check online to see and then use that to argue that you should be on that flight.
  • No other flights available to Manchester, only to Gatwick London, but no compensation to travel from London to Manchester if I was to change, they win win all round, my only argument is that this is a significant change when taken all factors into account.

    Sounds like they may have changed the flights from a UK originating aircraft to a Turkey originating aircraft?

    Have you spoken directly to TUI or just via Travel Republic? It might be worth trying to speak with TUI... although they may not be able to deal with you and only deal with the agent.

    I wonder if you'd booked these flights directly with TUI if you'd have been able to cancel? If they were under the same TUI booking, then one of the flights has been changed by 13 hours therefore triggering a major change. I wonder if Travel Republic have booked them as two separate bookings , although that would seem odd.
  • Yes could agree with you, originally when booked with travel republic the outgoing flight details were available but the return stated TBA, now when I received the email bringing the flight forward 11 and half hours the return flight is with Freebird Airways, apparently it will have Tui staff, and again T&C cover this.
