Very true, I should have said Mr and Mrs 'XXX', i.e the same surname.
I changed my passport prior to being married to ensure we could travel as Mr and Mrs PKK, but obviously my driving licence was still in my maiden name until I got back and could change it.0 -

Maybe you can only see the short-term pain and not the long-term gain? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
I have two names. I'm not married, never have been and have never changed my name by deed poll. My driving licence, electoral roll and bank accounts are in name A whereas my passport is in name A with name B noted as an Also Known As. My birth certificate is in name B.
The only difficulties I have experienced were some questioning when trying to enter Russia as they thought I was a spy with an AKA. I also once misplaced my passport on the airplane when flying back to the UK and was held for quite a while once it had been found due to the AKA. The only other issue is having to apply for my passport in person (and the additional cost of doing so) so that I can explain the situation. The Passport Office has always obliged with their same-day service.
I have no intention to deceive or defraud.0 -
I had my hen do abroad 3 months before my wedding, and I had to get a new passport because my old one expired. So i have a passport in my maiden name.
After getting married I changed my name on everything to my new married name, but left the passport because it still had 9years and 8months remaining on it and you have to pay the full price again for a new passport.
So until this runs out I just have to remember to book any holidays in my maiden name until my passport expires and I order a new one in my married name.
It hasn't caused any problems and legally it is ok to do.0 -
Legally it is fine- you can call yourself whatever you like. I had a similar situation for a number of years- changed my passport just before I got married as it was due to expire but my driving licence had points on it so left that for years until I moved house and had to change it to get the new address. Still have bank accounts in both names.
It's a pain if you move house and have to do a redirection of mail as you have to pay for each name that you want to redirect.0 -
I’ve got two different names- one is double barrelled, one isn’t. I use my birth name (non double barrelled) for uni (it will be my ‘professional’ name and is on my degree certificate, my postgraduate student finance and student account are all in that name, as is my passport) my benefits and medical records are in my double barrelled name. I use my birth name more as it’s my dad’s surname and my dad is at the end of his life so I prefer using it so I feel closer to him in that sense. Never had an issue though.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200
