My sky hd+ sometimes plays up and will not work and is asking me to insert the viewing card. To get it working I have to remove and reinsert the card it can happen a couple of times in a day. Just wondering whether I could phone and ask for a new box. It is about 4 yrs old I do not want to pay for any upgrade Anybody had any success of getting the new one free. I am also thinking of subscribing to the new entertainment for £25 but do not want to tie to 18 months contract in case I have leave sky as will not pay engineer for repair. Thanks

Buy a box off eBay , I've bought 2 boxes for £10 and £15 on collection only in the past

It might be the card rather than the box, pull the card and wipe around the chip area with a lint free cloth.

Good luck with getting a Q system for free, you'll be lucky if they'll replace your HD+ box with a refurbished one.

If you 'downgrade' to the Entertainment package (£20 surely) I can't see them demanding anything but an 18 month contract but you can only ask.
