  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

OH woke me around 3am going to the toilet, it was 6.45 when I went back to sleep so 9am before I woke, very hard to get up, so dopey.

Yesterday was not a bad day, just once sight 'feel queer' chair back, soon ok again. SS came, he wanted some info from his dad but we could not help him. I have promised to look out documentation for his next visit. Message as he left 'look after my dad' !! what the hell did he think I have been doing for the last 28 years? It might help if he kept in touch a bit more.

Not a nice morning, its drizzling, pot of lentil soup on the stove for lunch.

Letter has come about the change in OH's medication but the surgery have not got it, so I have had to copy it, will have a swift visit down to the surgery and take it in. They will deliver the medication.

Judi it sounds like the chap was dying whether anyone was there or not, your Grump mustn't beat himself up, if he had been a few minutes earlier he may have been involved himself. So pleased that his first fears weren't real xx

  • Morning chums ,what a terrible thing to happen Judi. The poor person who hit him must be in a dreadful state and his poor family today.

Well the weather(whispers behind my hand :)is actually very mild and the sun is shining and the skies are blue ,sorry for my friends in the north having the bad stuff at the moment .

Down in Kent we seem to have missed the worst of it,but no doubt it will work its way south eventually.Almost February chums, and the bulbs down her are racing each other to the surface at the moment. Its 10 week today until we go off for a week to the IoW so we are counting the day s off.

I have received two vouchers for a free meal at two different pub chains locally just because I have their loyalty cards so two free meals for moi this coming month :) Plus a tea for two and scones from Dobbies in february so I am quite a happy old dear today.
No shopping needed today at all as I am still feeding from my freezer.

Hope all the folk with the dreaded lurgy can get rid asap as its a horrible virus going the rounds at the moment My eldest DD will find out if her job has vanished in a merger tomorrow .She is not fussed as she has been ther 17 years and will be quite glad to be made redundant.Working in a school has restricted her and her OH to school holiday booking only when they go away and she said she now is at an age where she really doesn't need all the stress anymore.Their children are both grown up and the mortgage is paid so she says it would be nice to do a lot less and enjoy her life a bit more Get her work/life balance sorted out better I think.

Right well time for a coffee and a biscuit or two

Have a good day chums what ever you are doing and keep warm and dry if you can

Apparently the van driver did stop and he was distraught too. Grump said he cant eat and hes only just managed to get out onto the building site. His bosses have put no pressure on him, told him to come home if that what he needs to do but they are concerned about him driving whilst hes still in shock so he's doing what he does best, work.

    Afternoon everyone.

Judi - how awful for all concerned. Just goes to show that even the 'hard' men of the world can be shaken to the core.

My day has left me frazzled, new students, new course and they all look like rabbits caught in headlights! It's going to be tougher for them than they imagined I think. Then I was trying to catch up with the last semester students who still need to send me work. Some are doing it properly and some have sent me bits and pieces in dribs and drabs.

Luckily the house is tidy and clean. Probably because I've not had time to do anything to mess it up. Now I'm trying to devise a numeracy module for tomorrow and Wednesday. Hate doing numeracy, I'm more of a words person.

After a terrible hailstorm this morning the weather has settled down a bit, still it's January and can't expect much better.

    Thinking of you all.
  • Coconut biccies - managed to make 50 although some are a bit small:rotfl: can’t quite get used to the sizing as sometimes I only manage 35 - 40. They appear to be my DH’s absolute favourites. :D

It sounds as if grump did everything he could so there is no need to blame himself. The first thing you get told in first aid is to do no harm so if not sure what to do - do nothing,. If with the best of intentions he had raised someone's head for example, he would always have wondered if he had done damage. His actions do him credit!

I have had to change my e mail and tried to do the right thing by telling mse. I ended up unable to log in for days so eventually decided to just rejoin and change the first letter of my name to a capital letter.

DDs have been pointing out my shower head has limescale on it so I filled a plastic bag with cleaning liquid and tied it round the shower head overnight and have just rinsed it off. The shower head looks much better now.

My slippers were making squelching noises this morning so I looked out some special cleaning wipes and thoroughly cleaned up the soles.

DDs also pointed out my china cabinet was falling to bits so I spent the last couple of days looking for a modern already assembled alternative that was not too expensive with no luck!!!!

    Hugs to all
  • Judi......sorry to hear your OH was delayed by that awful crash, obviously he is suffering from shock, it will take time for him to get over it.
