Help! Parking ticket blew upside down

Hi,
I have read the newbies section, but as we have already contacted Britannia Parking (BP) I am a little confused on the next stage.
We parked the car at a retail park (during Storm Brian where winds of about 70 mph were forecast), purchased a parking ticket using a bank card from the parking machine.
Left the ticket on the dash board, got the kids out of the car, went to the boot etc, went shopping and then returned to find a PCN on the windscreen (£50 within 14 or £80 after) and then noticed that the parking ticket had blown to the other side of the dashboard and was now face down.
The wife has contacted BP via their website (not sure if she gave away who was driving in the email she sent via their website form).
We have received no communication from BP, but have now received a letter from their debt collectors (DRP Debt Recovery Plus Ltd) demanding £160 within 14 days of the date on the letter.
I have read on this forum of a POPLA code, but we haven't received a POPLA code or anything else from BP?
Not sure what to do next as we don't have a POPLA code and have received no comms from Britannia, could anyone offer any help please? Thank you!
We have the original parking ticket form the parking machine and the proof that we paid via bank card on the bank statement.

who is BP ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Save a Rachael

the keeper could report BP to the BPA AOS team for not replying to the appeal and not issuing a popla code
but if BP can prove they issued one and it expired and was unused , you wont get anywhere at all
as this is with DRP, these are the people you can ignore , they are powerless
the chances are you would win in court for various reasons so you could stick everything in a folder for 6 years and defend this if BP ever issued an MCOL
BP have 6 years to issue an LBC and an MCOL0 -

Thank you very much for taking your time to reply and sorry for the confusion.
BP = Britannia Parking
Do you know of anyone that has been successful in a case similar to this after buying a ticket using bank card and ticket blowing over?
Do you think we should contact BP tomorrow and ask for a POPLA code.0 -
that kind of appeal will not wash at POPLA, so NO is the answer
arguments like that have been used in successful defences in court cases, but its not at that stage as yet
legal arguments win at POPLA, not "what happened" on the day , but only if you could get a code
the court supposition is always unknown as they may not even try court , so then its a moot point
the BMPA site has information about parking companies and the likelihood (or not) of court cases0 -
