Hi JD,
If you're not already aware, you can get good tyres at a good price from Blackcircles. They're on Topcashback. They did used to let you earn Tesco Clubcard points aswell but I don't think they do anymore unfortunately. Well done on your end of month totals!#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -

I was having a conversation about this the other day. I live right on the south coast, my parents live in Arundel. In the past week there has been a mugging and a stabbing there, and on Friday in Littlehampton also not far from me there were three teens stabbed by another teen. Arundel especially, is a affluent area with many many houses in the half a million plus range.
In fact a quick check on rightmove.com finds 73 'properties' for sale there. Out of those, not a single house under 250k. A quarter of a million for a small bungalow in one of the 'worst areas' in Arundel...I'll take my chances in Burnley:)November NSD's - 70 -
Good grief, there's some lovely places around 45k in Burnley :j.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I went to a university in a 'rough' area. My parents were understandably worried but one of my instrumental teachers reassured them (correctly) that, because of the reputation of the area I knew I had to be careful. Not walking out late at night on my own. Making sure I kept my phone out of sight when walking around etc. The university was also prepared for student safety.
I went to uni as did my friend, who went to a 'posh, safe, affluent' university in a nice area where sadly there were many many nasty attacks on students in the first few weeks as many of them thought they were safe so didn't look after themselves.
So,.. an area is what you make of it, if it's 'rough' you know you need to be careful. If it's not rough, you still need to be safe, but it's harder to know what that looks like.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

There are rough spots in the nicest of places, you are right, it is all about being sensible and keeping yourself safe.November NSD's - 70 -
