Well, work fluffed up my pay, again, so that's the second month running :( I'll be honest, I wanted to cry. I spoke to my manager who spoke to payroll. They said the wrong form had been completed (nothing to do with me) and they held back the pay - I wonder if they'd actually bothered checking with someone about the form!

Anyway they said it would be sorted and backdated to my pay in January which freaked me out as we get paid early and then have to wait 'til the end of January. I spoke to my manager and she has asked them to do the owed pay as an interim payment.Goodness knows how long that will take.

Luckily I set some money aside in case they fluffed things up again so I won't be short for bills etc, but it's the time of year where you get additional spends so it's all a bit stressful. I'm not sure when I'll get this interim payment - knowing my luck it'll be just before January payday!

Another poster on here has made me think about my goals for 2019.Definitely the overall goal is to reduce my debt, so my self-employed earnings are going to be used to get rid as much as possible. I'm hoping I can take about £4k off it during 2019 :)

Not sure of any other goals just yet, other than continue learning and growing in my job and getting as much training as I can so I can widen my skills. I love learning so I'll see what's on offer in 2019.

Well, I coped with the trip to see family better than I have done for years so that's huge progress.

One thing did spoil it and that was my brother's boyfriend who I don't particularly like due to how he's treated my mum in the past. I felt I was being hounded by him, and when he's had a lot to drink he just goes on.

Hubby and I had mentioned a little while ago about wanting to move down south, but when I got my job and we re-assessed things we decided it made more sense to stay where we are. It's cheaper to live here and we love being near the country. We're happy with our decision. However, most of Saturday evening, including when we went out to eat, my brother's boyfriend kept on and on about why we should move down. Even his mum, who I'd not met before, said she was disappointed because us moving down would have made it easier for her to see MY mum more regularly!

It sounds like they had a lot invested in us moving down, and none of it to do with OUR happiness.

It carried on when we got back to my mum's house after the meal, and then he started talking about my dad (who died when we were young children), how bad his dad was, and how we were so lucky to have had our dad even though he was dead. I wanted to walk out the room, and should have done really as both my brother's did. It was quite upsetting really.

I still feel irked about it, but at least I don't see him very often. Maybe next time I should be brave and just tell him to shut up!

Anyway, I had my extra pay go into my account so that's a relief. Now for a quiet Christmas with hubby. We're going to take the pooch out today and just be lazy really.

Have a great time everyone, whatever you're doing :)

Sorry to hear yesterday wasn’t the best - people can be insensitive especially with drink.

I hope you have a fantastic day today and Santa has some nice things for you :snow_grin:xmastree:
