Hi Cumbria! I've been p@nts at keeping this journal updated as things have been so busy. My client said they wanted to come back on a fortnightly basis so I'm due to see them this Saturday. I also had a new client come to see me on Monday evening and they want to work with me weekly, which is great. Hubby has two clients as well, so we're doing well so far and if we keep these clients on for a bit it will more than cover our room rental.

I'm hoping that this month I can pay off a some extra towards my debts as the balance has stayed pretty static, which I guess is better than it increasing, but still. I've been better this month at not spending on "odds and ends" so I don't think I'll be in danger of going overdrawn this month.

Great news on the clients for you and hubby , the more the merrier. We are all guilty of spending on odds and ends from time to time. I sometimes go through phases of being fed up with the debt busting and then have a great push and it all feels better.

Things are going in the right direction for you both , hope it keeps up for you. Any more holidays planned this year ?

We have a week off in September, but we're not going away anywhere. We'd both like to go to Stratford upon Avon for the day and it might be a good opportunity to do a proper tidy of the house and do some painting!

That week off is getting nearer , I think days out are just as nice as a weeks break, Stratford upon Avon is of course a great place for a trip to.

Have a good bank holiday weekend.

Thanks Cumbria. We've ended up booking a night in a B&B in Stratford :)

Cookie will go in the kennel for the night so we can go out for a meal and I won't be worrying about her lol. I prefer having Cookie with us as hubby is normally off taking photos of everything, but it'll be nice to go wherever we want as having her with us can limit us at times.

Well the heatwave people were talking about for this weekend hasn't materialised. Typical :rotfl:

Not too long before we have our week off. I'm looking forward to staying overnight in Stratford. I have the money to cover the B&B and the kennel for the pooch. I'm getting some back-pay this month due to my pay band at work increasing from April so I'll use some of that so we can eat out.

I'd like to put a bit of it on the CC though, but there's been times in the past that I've done that and left myself short, which is pointless!

We had lovely weather here yesterday. I totally forgot I had a hairdressing appointment until 15 minutes before I was due to go. I didn't really feel like it as I'd had a heavy client session, but it did me good and my hair looks tidier.

As it was so nice we sat out in the garden. I bought hubby and I a bottle of wine each and some nibbles. I don't do alcohol very often now but it was nice to wind down. I think I've been pushing myself a bit too much lately in terms of getting things done for the business. I enjoy what I'm doing, but I need to learn to give myself time off. That cost £17 so I want to be careful as I want us to have a meal out while we're in Stratford. Nothing fancy, but it's nice to treat yourself when you're away.

Not sure if I mentioned, but I now share an office at work with a colleague. I "moved in" on Thursday lol. They have taken on more staff at work and room space is limited. Plus I was using someone else's office while they were on maternity leave and they come back soon. It's nice to have someone to talk to throughout the day and bounce ideas off, so I think it's a good thing as we'd both said it could be isolating being in our separate offices :)
