Good news on the balance transfer but boo to more car troubles. It might be worth trying another sensor from a scrap yard just in case it's not that. Most sensors are relatively easy to change, and YouTube is a goldmine of how to videosCC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Thanks Uniscots. I actually booked the car in to be looked at in a couple of week's time (they didn't have any slots for next week). I checked my booklet I got from the dealership when I bought the car and I have something called "Lifeline cover" which covers faults with the car. I'm sure it won't pay for all of it (they have to make their money afterall), but it might pay something towards them testing things out. Either way, I'll be putting as much as I can into my rainy day fund to try and cover whatever costs I end up paying.
Car was fine today on the way to work, but then I let it sit idle for 10 minutes before pulling away so maybe that helped. I'll be sure to keep doing that as perhaps the cold is playing silly b*ggers with the sensor0 -
Arghhhh snow!!!! Arggghhhhh cars!!!!
Sorry to hear you have fallen victim to both. We now have a good few inches on the ground but it is due to stop today. No doubt it will turn into lovely slush... Not a single weather forecast has been right so far. I have managed to get to work no problem over the last few days. I use Chiltern Railways and they have had a great service. I am a bit miffed though - two of my colleagues were allowed to work from home because it was 'too dangerous to drive.' They live in the same town as me and the trains were running. Talk about favouritism. I made my feelings known.Emergency Fund: £300.01/£1000 (30%) March NST: 2/18 NSDs

Sorry to hear of your car troubles , hope it gets sorted. With this weather you really need a reliable car.

Yes I'm sure there are people who could realistically get into work but use the snow as an excuse!0 -

Thanks Cumbria Lass. This appointment at the garage is apparently for a diagnostic. So, if it turns out to be a sensor maybe we can source a second-hand oneWe'll see what they say...if it's a complex job I'd rather the garage do it so that it least the work is guaranteed if anything goes wrong again!

Well, I had a bit of a meltdown today
I was ready to send off my Charlie's ashes to be made into a ring. I took the envelope to the post office and they said they didn't send by UPS and that I'd have to take it to another shop. I walked back home, got in the car and drove to the other shop who then told me I'd need to print a UPS label and the parcel would then be collected from their shop. I was rather emotional about all this anyway, but having to faff about made it even worse. I got home and went onto the UPS site and couldn't figure out how to pay for postage and print a label so I just burst into tears. I'll sort it next week.
In more positive news, none of the stuff I'd put on ebay/preloved/gumtree sold and I decided I wanted it gone, so I took it to an Age UK cs this afternoon. I'd rung them beforehand to check they were accepting things, so I managed to get rid of clothes, books, and some costume jewellery
However, I still feel like this place is too cluttered. Has anyone else experienced that??
Went to Aldi and made the mistake of walking down the centre aisle. Luckily I managed to avoid temptation as there were so many things there which I thought I needed! I did, however, buy a nice looking reed diffuser in a cream and gold box which I'd had my eye on for a while and that's been put away as a Christmas present for my mum (might as well start early!).
I did a bit of hoovering, meal-prepped lunches for next week but used too much sauce and was able to save quite a bit, so I'll use the excess for tonight's tea and might also be able to use it tomorrow :T
Hope everyone is keeping warm. I currently have about three layers on, as well as the heating, and I'm still feeling it!0 -
Christmas shopping?!?! Hahaha good for you. I wish I was as organised. What did you make for lunch?Emergency Fund: £300.01/£1000 (30%) March NST: 2/18 NSDs

I'm not a fan of Christmas, so if I can make it less painful then I will ha ha! I've left it 'til the last minute too many times and end up spending lots in one month
I made chicken with mushrooms, chickpeas, and rice with a mushroom sauce (the sauce was from a jar lol), but there was more of it than I realised!0
