Have to admit, after casually browsing and partaking a bit today on the other thread, I quickly came to the very same conclusion.

May be wrong, but would be hard pressed to find two like minded, such "out there" personalities with the same writing style and desperate need for attention!
Not sure they are I think there are some differences but they could be deliberate, but they both have some unusual opinions.

100% the same person. It’s not even well done either - unfortunately that would require intelligence. I’d leave them ‘both’ alone unless you’re just playing along for fun? Absolute fruit loop to put it politely

Who stopped you? Why did you go ahead with the purchase if you were being stopped?

The maximum now? Expecting to sell at a profit on day 1 is kinda weird.

What makes you think he!!!8217;s GreatApe

GreatApe and triathlon are NOT the same poster, GreatApe and I tend to see eye to eye on a lot of (not all) issues, whereas triathlon was actually saying repeatedly that I am a crashist from hpc :rotfl: and he also got the wrong end of the stick when I said something like 'are you not aware of my views' GreatApe definitely has an idea of what what my views are on housing, and that I am not a doomster from hpc.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop

Garbage . All that it means is you'll pay for your own care home , whilst all the relatives who never visited you , hope you pop off whilst there is still some money in the pot. :p

That sounds about right and you will get the same care as the muppet down the road who has never paid into anything in their lives

If that is all it does then you have basically wasted your time....people get those on benefits nowadays....:rotfl:The problem with people who bought in the 70`s spouting off is that any mug who listens to them now, especially in the S.E, is going to be stuck with a helluva lot of property debt when this all goes South, it has been unsustainable for quite a while, hence all the QE etc. by CB`s, but any spike up in rates is game over, especially for highly leveraged BTL IMO.

The BTL market has had plenty of time to become saturated, so it's not the great idea it once was. That is the same for every kind of investment.

Crashes have only ever been temporary adjustments. My sister and brother in law had to borrow money from relatives to buy themselves out of negative equity to get out of their flat, the flat is now worth ten times what it was. But they got themselves a steal on the property that they then moved into. Of course there will be people who don't have that luxury, or lose their job, or can't manage their finances who will have their houses repossessed. It's a gamble, but the odds are still in favour of buying a house.

Renting or buying a property isn't that different. You either pay to borrow money at todays rate to buy your own house at a price set in the past or you pay your own money to borrow someone elses house at todays price. It's pretty much guaranteed that in 20 years time house prices and rents will be much higher than today.

Buying your own house means you don't need to move every time the landlord decides to get rid of you, don't have the hassle of the landlord not doing what they are supposed to etc. It's probably right that you can just coast through life and demand a council house, but that takes a certain kind of person & if everyone did that then the country would be in a terrible state.

After 10 years with a repayment mortgage you would have paid of 30% fall in nominal prices to go into negative equity and long term nominal falls are unusual. The longest Crash was in early 90s when prices fell 15% and took 6 years to recover.

Peer pressure, society pressure is the thing to do.... i just bought my first home a mid terrace character property in sunny Farnborough walking distance to train station and with a big drive. Yet i feel like i m crumbling with depression. I m 44! First time buyer. I paid 270 k for a piece of rubish! Electrical wires dangerously layed and i paid an electrical surveyoir and he did not pointed out.
Electric meter in a cupboard that i ll smash my head in every time i walk in with very awful cableing, windows musting with dirt and mould. A big gas pipe hidden in a kitchen cupboard. And i signed my life to this. Estate agent mad sure i had no chance to investigate. So i might as well jump of a bridge in the thames.i bought the house for 270 maximum will get for it will be 281 and with roof work and other work it will cost me 20 k to put right and i paid 800 for a surveyoir for what?! And 300 for electrical surveyoyouf who didnt say how bad electrical work is.
I m so down is unbelievable:((

And i was renting a beautiful place half price of mortgage
