That's me done at work until Tuesday, been a really busy day today. Managed to fit in a run in the gym at lunchtime

Used my £18 of M&S vouchers and with the 20% off got a pair of jeans and a tshirt for just £1.20 :j

Unfortunately Mr SA had a bad fall today and has broken a garden bench by falling onto it DD had to help him up, luckily she was off work today. He has managed to wreck several gardens items by falling on them. I know he can't help the falls but it's still annoying A couple of years ago I bought a lovely fountain, it wasn't cheap but looked fab in the garden until he fell on it and broke it.

Top of the pester list now is a walking frame for him to use in the garden. They sell them at our local Age Concern shop so he wants to get one tomorrow.

DS and the GKs coming tomorrow, it's GS's 3rd birthday on Sunday so they're coming to pick up the presents. Got him a wooden car park as he loves lining up cars.

This weekend I'm going to make a list of all the jobs that need doing and start chipping away at them. It may take some time :eek:

He needs something Beanie, his mobility is dire. It's definitely getting worse. Honestly it's like living with someone who is permanently drunk - the staggering about, the slurred speech and the falls He wants to go back to the GP but I think they're at a loss as to what they can do - it is what it is.

What a shame - both the falls and the fact he falls *on* things... maybe the frame might help? As the garden seems to be where he falls more, I'm supposing he copes better on a level floor and wondering if there might be specialist footwear that would help? Even just a good pair of trainers, well fastened, but he may well be wearing that sort of footwear already for all I know. (I dismissed the picture of him in six inch heels as somehow not the person you've conjured up in my mind).
Is it a big garden, or on hill or somesuch? Just wondering if it's worth adapting the garden to him rather than the other way around?
I also wonder if the GP could refer him to physio or exercise classes designed to work on balance and co-ordination. That's if he'd go. If he's not as mobile as he was, working on the stabilising muscles might help?

Just ideas - feel free to ignore.

The wooden car park for your Grandson brought back memories of my oldest at that age. They are so sweet! Must be nice to be able to spend hours lining up toy cars and not haivng to think about grown ups' things.

Good luck with the jobs list! I'd lend you mine for inspiration but I don't think you'd want it.

I think he needs another referral to make sure he gets the advice and the correct aids to give him the stability for being in the garden.

Thanks debs and cherry His mobility has got worse since he got his scooter, he doesn't try anymore. Cherry he was wearing a pair of pool sandals when he fell - I know!!!!! The garden is 100ft long and he puts obstacles there himself, such as he leaves the hose pipe all over. He just gets up to all this stuff while I'm at work, drives me nuts.

Anyway today had a visit from the GKs. GS was over excited about his birthday tomorrow and GD was jealous. Apparently no one has ever bought her a balloon ever in her life!! We sat outside in the sunshine and what with the GKs kicking off, the dog barking and then we were dive bombed by robins protecting their nest which they've unbelievably built inches from the ground in a bush next to the patio - it was chaos!!!

And breathe ...
