I!!!8217;m really sorry for you both , it must be difficult.
But complaining that you get stared at- well you will you I!!!8217;ll get stared at with your daughters behaviour.
By members of staff? For what reason? because she has an mental illness? Her behaviour? She is shopping and spending money just like other shoppers.0 -
I suspect there may be a history of problems at the store, it would explain the staff already being aware of your daughter's condition.
Despite being told by management that they would make staff aware of my daughters illness there were staff who carried on making it an uncomfortable experience to shop and contribute to their wages by shopping in there.0 -

(And, btw, my wife is Russian and told me this herself.)
Might as well be living in Russia!!
Thanks for your superb and extremely helpful contribution. I'll be sure to pass it on to my daughter.0 -

Did you try to get her back to the shop ? What happens if this store closes down?
A friend had a daughter with a fairly similar ailment. She found a support group where they went together to different places- one being a supermarket. She also was advices to join a drama group. I found this a bizarre suggestion but she has never looked back.
I had no choice to buy because my daughter didn't want to make a scene in the shop and just wanted to get out because she was upset etc.
We are trying to get my daughter help urgently, though it isn't easy and not every person is the same so I'm happy that your daughter got better that way I just wish my daughter could to.0 -
a shop doesn't need a reason to ban someone, they can have who they like on their private property.
did I seen your daugther wipes her items of food she picks up?
then if she changes mind and puts them back on shelves they could be seen as being contaminated couldn't they?
Your daughter is not the only person who shops there, maybe they have to chuck the stuff she picks up, wipes and puts back, in the bin?0 -

You did not t specify members of staff.
In a perfect world people would not t stare at ;odd!!!8221; behaviour but it i s a fact of life they do.
Perhaps the staff have a mental health problem too.
If you want a bespoke service you would need to shop at a small independent shop.0 -
You find it strange and hard to believe?? Well unfortunately it is true as we as a family had to deal with the aftermath and upset,
They were touching items that had been placed in the bagging area.
I had spoken to the various managers in the store and explained about my daughters ocd and they assured me staff would be made aware so why would I doubt them??
You may be under pressure yourself but you need a dose of reality.
A store is very busy , your daughter is just one person, they are not going to make a training video about her and show it to the staff weekly. Most new staff get barely any training on anything much.
You can not change other people, it is your daughters behaviour that needs to change.0 -
The suspicion of theft was farcical, I'd got some items from morrisons, which were all there own brand which were in my basket on the front of my mobility scooter which could quite easily be seen.
Yes they are a business and we were in there everyday spending a heck of a lot of money and does it matter we were in there everyday?
No arguement from me either regarding them closing the tills at whatever time they want, we were told that the tills were shut at 10pm and only asked the one time for them to be opened again. But don't come out with different excuses as to why as it's not exactly good customer service is it?
Most folk would use a bit of common sense and cover up groceries bought elsewhere with a bag.Again, the odd behaviour is going to make some people come to the wrong conclusion about you. That is a fact.0 -
Because of her ocd and because she could only have food from there and then they ban her for no reason then I think we can.
Your lack of holding yourself and your daughter accountable at all seems to be a problem you haven’t recognised.
This is something you need to get help with yourself. It’s not helping her, quite the opposite.0
