But most didn't go to grammar school.

While I agree that it's been posted in the wrong place, it's understandable as to why.

The pedants who get upset about it, sneering rather than answering he question or suggesting a better place, are more irritating than anybody posting in the incorrect forum even there are dozens to choose from.

I tried to Edit my post but have been caught by the overnight changed forum rules!
Was going to say - bound to be accused of pedantry but IMO it's a very good example of why grammar matters as without it communications breakdown occurs.
I'm not upset and didn't sneer - and trust you aren't too irritated, don't let it spoil your day ;)
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....

Dont have your valuables on show, put them in a safe, put them in your case and put clothes on top or you take them with you.

I stay in travelodges fairly regularly, usually in London. Like Tiggsteroonie I leave my stuff in the room, hiding my iPad in my suitcase. I've never had a problem, my approach is that few cleaners are likely to risk their job for a fairly old piece of tech.

My attitude to hotel rooms is that they are just about the safest place you will find on your travels. You are far more likely to have your stuff nicked, lost or damaged while you are out and about in bars, restaurants or just on the streets.

I go to a lot of conferences and exhibitions with work and the amount of stuff which goes "missing" during events is incredible. It's just so easy to pick up a laptop bag which doesn't belong to you and walk off with it without anyone noticing.

The forum isn't called Travel Planning for Overseas Holidays.

So posting about Travel Planning or Overseas Holidays isn't unreasonable.

So where does that leave the UK Holidays forum..? Which is IMO the far more appropriate place for this.
