In any hotel room you should leave valuables in a safe if there is one. If there isn't, the reception may have a safe you can use.
What sort of items are you planning on leaving in the room whilst you aren't there (I assume you are coming back in the evening?).0 -
What kind of 'stuff'? I happily leave clothes, books, food on show in a hotel room. If there isn't a safe for my netbook, I leave it in a pocket of my (discreetly) locked suitcase. I know that's a risk, but I figure it's less likely that a cleaner will steal a supposedly empty suitcase from a room.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

When you go on holiday do you take all of your luggage out with you every day?0

The forum isn't called Travel Planning for Overseas Holidays.
So posting about Travel Planning or Overseas Holidays isn't unreasonable.0 -

No, it's called Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning.
'Overseas' applies to Holidays and Travel Planning.
English grammar; can you tell I went to a Grammar school?
The way you interpret it could have been done by inserting a comma (or perhaps a semi-colon) after Holidays. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
I stay in travelodges fairly regularly, usually in London. Like Tiggsteroonie I leave my stuff in the room, hiding my iPad in my suitcase. I've never had a problem, my approach is that few cleaners are likely to risk their job for a fairly old piece of tech.0

But most didn't go to grammar school.
While I agree that it's been posted in the wrong place, it's understandable as to why.
The pedants who get upset about it, sneering rather than answering he question or suggesting a better place, are more irritating than anybody posting in the incorrect forum even there are dozens to choose from.0
