Just made same decision myself. Talktalk will attempt to convert you to O2, good luck.
I got my pac code and have just set up with ID mobile bought through this website. 2,25 Gb data, 250 minutes and 5000 texts for £5 per month. Only con is the start date for month contract is the day you request sim not actually receive and activate it.0 -
Thanks,
they already gave me the number for 02! What are they offering?
Other one I was looking at besides ID was Smarty.
Has anyone got any experience of them?0 -
Don’t forget there are only 4 networks in the UK, O2, Vodafone, EE and Three. The “others” buy airtime from them and piggyback on their networks.
1. Check coverage with a PAYG SIM if changing networks, especially check your regular haunts, home, work, supermarket, pub, etc. Do not rely on sales staff or their predicted coverage maps.
2. Very carefully read the terms and conditions, especially with regard to price caps, some let you exceed your allowance and charge an arm/leg for it! Few have a sensible policy in this regard, I’m with Three who allow you to turn on/off yourself a zero overspend limit.
For an idea of reasonable SIM only packages, see:

Thanks. Both Smarty and ID use Three to piggyback off so I suppose it's just down to price0

There's a long thread about Smarty, I've been with them since the start without issue.0

I doubt Smarty offer 2.25 GB of data for £5
Isn't that their base price (without data)? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

That's what it is. I've got the idmobile deal myself.
My DD needs a deal with more data, is on Tescomobile's 2Gb for £12.50. Tesco also offer a 6Gb deal for that price but are making it difficult to switch. They want me to cancel the contract and start a new one, and that might involve a credit check which will affect the record, so that ain't happening.
Looked around and Smarty will do 4Gb for £10, and Tesco's lost a customer. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
