Well what a Moaning Myrtle I was last week. Day in the woods was absolutely excellent and exactly what we all needed. Can't believe how different the weather compared to now either!

Snow this week has been fun but very expensive - around £150 lost in cancelled students. I've also spend on upgrading my tutoring website but still need to actually do this.

I held an eBay party last night for neighbours and over £400 raised! very pleased with that especially considering we're surrounding by black ice and I didn't know whether anyone would actually come. In theory I've got another one booked in for a month from now. I'm mulling over how I can do these regularly for strangers. They're a very easy was of turning over stock but I'm worried about getting my stuff stolen if I go to strangers' homes.

Last night's party brings this week's eBay earnings to just under £1000, obviously I'm completely delighted with that especially given the weather which weirdly made people stop buying.

This weekend's planned spends are £10 to go daytime dancing with the children tomorrow (if it goes ahead) and that's about it. Contemplating buying a MrS annual pass again to cut out all the MrAl trips which aren't that convenient.

Have been working on my new ebook but much more discipline needed here

Those earnings are great. Could be a way forward as long as you can keep stock safe.

EBAy party sounded a great success- well done!

I guess your eBay sales will be higher as more people are snowed in so browsing the internet and shopping more :)

Well aren't I doing brilliantly keeping this diary up to date!:rotfl:

I applied for a job a couple of weeks ago which I haven't done for ages, had an interview which I also haven't done for ages. Enjoyed the interview so much, it did me so much good to have to sing my own praises. Anyway, you know where this is going...got it!! I won't yell too much, it's just 5 hours a week but it's 5 hours permanent, term-time only, daytime tutoring work in a school for £25 an hour so I'm pretty pleased. It's been my focus to move as much tuition as I can to those hours so I'm dead chuffed. It actually represents me putting myself out there again instead of focusing entirely on the kids and putting my own needs last too so I'm feeling very positive right now. Slight disadvantage is it's quite far from my home so I'll need to think how I can actively use the travel time. It's about 10 miles so I can easily cycle it except it's uphill most of the way and I'm not as fit as I used to be. Alternatively I can get the train for £5 and sit serenely and read. Hmmmmm, decisions! We also have a bit of childcare issue with it and I may well end up paying a good chunk of my wage out for this. However, it's only 1 term then DS3 is at school so I'm thinking long term on this one.

I've also started with 2 new students this week and have another new one starting tomorrow. This will be online so I need to spend some time working out how I'm actually gonna do this. Zoom apparently is the thing to use.

Money news, spent another £1000 on the kitchen remodel. We've blocked up an external door and it makes just so much difference! The house flows so much better and it just feels cleaner and more private.

Also need to chase our former energy company to refund the OP we have made now we've moved suppliers.

Got our mortgage statement too. Have OPed well over £1000 which is great to say our income is so low. Have also been delighted to see DH has been making loads of TillyTidies. We get them all in the end! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Whoop! Congrats on the job! :) :T

Personally I'd go for the train and use the time to meal plan/ to do lists/ plan tutor sessions (obv you, not me! :D)/ update finances etc - and also catch up on my reading :)

  • Congratulations on the job Courgette! Could you perhaps get the train to work and take the bike with you, and then use it to cycle home so you can just go downhill?
