in Techie Stuff
neighbour asking me to assist , old laptop , but has his favourite prog on it (bridge lessons?)
no installation disk , not sure if 32 bit or 64 bit , just sits at screen awaiting windows password
no cd writer here , but access to pendrives
looked at a million "suggested" ways in google/youtube
any thoughts please

make a bootable usb with Hirens boot disc on, there is a password program there that will let you remove any of the user passwords. wont get into any details here but a simple youtube search of how to remove windows passwords using hirens boot cd0

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor; download and burn to a CD or USB Flash drive; boot from it.
Takes a bit of courage!
And, in my case, faster typing!

As an aside if your friend is in to bridge if they have a chance the "bridge v+" available on android is brilliant. I play it on a 5in phone and also on a 10in tablet, free for the ads version but only a few pounds for ads free version.0

havnt a clue , hes about 80 , msnages with computers and remembered the prog on his wifes old ex works laptop , he has been asking me to go to pc sharks with him but I declined , this thing seems to hold power for an hour , and will cost him £300-£800 less than sharks RusSave a Rachael

A W10 machine, yes, it will give problems, but works fine on W7...it's one of those things that's invaluable in my IT toolkit......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
