    Hi there

It's usually as a debt gets older that you may be approached by a creditor or debt collection agency (DCA) offering a full & final settlement. There's nothing to stop you asking for a lower amount, but bear in mind there's no obligation on them to agree. It's also advisable to make a full & final offer to all your debts so that you are treating them fairly.

Before making a full & final payment, make sure it's affordable. And always have written confirmation of the agreement before making a payment. You need to know your payment is in full & final settlement of the debt, they won't pursue you in future and they won't sell the debt on. Good luck.

  • Ok so as an update...

This was originally with Sunny and I didn't realise it had been sold on. It's from last year some time total owed £338.08.

I went back to them offering 25% (the same as what I had offered to all creditors/dca). They have said lowest they will go is 50%
