Work colleague told me is going to go off sick

Did you actually read my post. I said that I would report it if there was concrete proof, or if I was asked directly. That is not "tattletaling". You could look at it another way - someone who categorically IS claiming sick pay when not sick is a thief. A bully is someone abusing another. Discrimination and hatred have no place in a decent society. You support these things, do you?
I did actually read your post, but I was referring to the OP who has no concrete proof so it would be tattletaling in this instance. Yes, I fully support those things :rotfl: not. What a daft question.0 -

This.
I've had people tell me they were planning to go off sick a few times , I'd really rather not know and that's what I've told them (they weren't even people I was particularly close to )
If your colleague is doing paid work while he's off he could end up in real trouble as that is actually fraud
Probably a good thing if he never reappears , if he does I think you need to tell him you don't want to be put in this kind of position0 -
Most of theses people don't do it from a good place but from a belief they have ingratiated themselves with the manager in the hope of some future reward. Don't kid yourself with all the other nonsense.
I'm at a stage of my career where future reward and my manager's opinion mean less too me than my own conscience.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

Quite agree, the Chav code of honour of not grassing, telling tales or brown nosing becomes less important when you start to work out that those individuals have been getting you to do their work/ cover up for them. As someone mentioned earlier in the thread its normally the ones who take the proverbial that promote the "Omerta".

"The code of silence is usually either kept because of threat of force, or danger to oneself, or being branded as a traitor or an outcast within the unit or organization"
EDITED TO ADD It appears its important to them to have the last word.Originally Posted by shortcrust
