And one of the major survey companies for electoral surveys is YouGov.
They are another one where my surveys have gone down to one every couple of months. I’m wondering if it’s because I’m getting older and I’m now in a different demographic band for them.

I stopped doing YouGov surveys because I felt too many of them were weighted in favour of a certain answer and I was finding it difficult to answer some of the questions honestly. When I answered what I actually thought rather than what they seemed to want to hear, the surveys dried up to something like you mentioned, one a month or so. I gave up with them after that.

Based on what I know from filling in their surveys, I don't give it much credence when I see the results of a YouGov survey in the media.

    Social Media Survey

    By Kristen Berman

    £2.33 • £12.98/hr

    10 mins

    37 places

In this study I will ask you to watch some videos and answer questions about your experience. If you are able to answer some questions correctly, you could earn a bonus!

Note: The videos in this study are about weight loss. If viewing content about weight loss may negatively affect you, please refrain from participating in this study.

I answered a couple of questions about which SM platforms I use then got dumped out with a completion code, followed by a message

You have been asked to return your submission for "Social Media Survey" for the following reason(s):

    • Inconsistent responses

    Please return the submission

Has anyone heard any more about this yet? Mine is still awaiting review, and I haven't received any reply from the researcher to my message asking them to explain what was inconsistent about my responses. Wondering if they're going to try their luck at rejecting our submissions.
Still no reply from researcher, but has been paid today - likely automatically as 21 days.

Yes, mine too, just after midnight.
  • Another Y-live survey completed in about 6-7 mins. I don't mind that ratio. Just wish I could get more than one survey a day.

Yes. Same here.  Looking at the survey they wanted over 750 participants. Given the number that are likely to have been dumped out very quickly due to the wrong selection process for the type of social media, it has probably been a very expensive lesson for them. Prolific are unlikely to have upped their number of rejections.

  • Got an email from Y_live for a survey, literally 5 minutes later I get the following message:

We are very sorry, but unfortunately you are either not eligible for this survey or the survey is now closed.

Does that mean they are not screening very well? No way it can be closed already.

    Working fine for me.

In fact, just had this beauty that took 6 minutes for £7.50. was estimating 30 minutes when I took it, now reduced to £7 with the same payout.

No, it does happen sometimes. Particularly the higher paid ones.
