Exploration of relationship between well-being and a conscious connection with personal values

I have just had a similar experience (with the above Study this morning)  being screened out after answering only two questions:  My Prolific ID (which was correct) and I ticked the box (from a number of choices) to say that I was Retired.  - I am aged 74:

“You are ineligible for this study as you have provided information which is inconsistent with your Prolific prescreening responses. Please return your submission on Prolific by selecting the 'Stop without completing' button.”

I received no reply from the Researcher and (did did not Return the Study) I was Timed-Out.

I had the same experience with this study.  I've messaged the researcher too. Let's hope something positive comes from doing that because I haven't given incorrect information to Prolific either.

I've had an admisssion of error from the researcher but I've also asked them to check that the original decision has not been noted on my account.

Thanks Cordie.  I notified Prolific and hope they have noted the error.

Update:  I received this message from The Researcher - the italics and emboldened words are my doing:

"My apologies for the message. The inconsistency has arisen as Profilic was to pre-screen participants and select individuals who are currently employed. I will revisit the structuring of the start of the survey and see if I can improve it in some way".

I had this too, and I reported it to Prolific and told the researcher that I strongly resented being accused of fraud.  They have replied with an apology, and the excuse given to Deleted_User.  I have replied quoted three of the questions in the Work section of my profile and the answers in each which show that I am retired, and said that there is not much point in filling out all those questions if researchers are not going to use them to check their target respondents.  I bet I don't get a reply to that.

I wish some researchers would state that their study is only for residents of a particular country before I click to take part.

Best thing was the pay was in £s, i think it was a prolific error

    Job Study 1

    By Tom Porter

    £1.50 • £4.75/hr

In this study we will ask you a variety of questions, including :

    • How you see yourself
    • What you would do in your ideal job
    • Your preferred ways of working
    • Your work experience
    • Numerical questions
    • Your current performance at work
    • How you feel about aspects of your working life
    • Information about your current employment
    • Demographic Information

The study will not require you to identify your current employer, but will ask information about your current role.

Please complete the entire survey in a single sitting (We would expect the study to take around 15 minutes to complete).

You will receive your reward within 1 week of completion.

I was pushed for time at around 4.15 this afternoon but looking at the time quoted (around 15 mins to complete), I thought I could fit it in, but after 20 mins I was only a third of the way through on the second page, which consisted of a large number of arithmetic sums and number sequences etc.

Not my strongest point I admit, but the time quoted was way out for me.  I was willing to ignore the fact it was underpaying if it was quite brief, but I had to return it as I had things to do that could not wait. :)

I messaged the researcher and told him he needed to change his settings.  That is just poor on their part (or lazy).

I had this yesterday morning and did the short questionnaire but the last task - to record my feelings in audio format - the widget for recording didn't work.  I tried another browser and another PC but nothing.

I returned the survey and let the researcher know.  He replied explaining the widget (despite rigorous testing) had failed and he paid the survey.  I let him know that if he got it working I was happy to continue anyhow - without further payment.  This morning a link has appeared and I've tested the widget - he did just ask if I can record myself saying check one two three - but I completed the survey as it should have been done.

It was actually nice to have a fast response and someone engaging in trying to get the survey sorted out.   He is going to reissue this - presume today - so watch out!

If you do get it, it is about 20 questions followed by a 2-3 minute recording of you saying what you think life will be like when you are in your seventies and what you would look forward to.  It isn't anything like the 43 minutes it shows, so don't be put off.

    English Speech Assessment

    By Abhishek Unnam

We have created an AI model that can assess a person’s language skills. This study is to test the validity of our AI model. In this study, we will assess your English speaking skills, where you’ll be scored on your pronunciation, fluency, listening skills, and reading skills. You will be presented with a few audios and a few sentences which you’ll have to read out and a few audios that you’ll have to listen to and repeat.

You’ll be provided with a link that will redirect you to our test portal. There you’ll be provided a few small sections to complete. You’ll get the details about them once you enter our test portal.

Also, there is a small demographic survey, which we need you to fill out after you log in to the assessment portal. Please note that we don't collect any personally identifiable information. If any field in the survey appears to gather personally identifiable information, feel free to put fictitious details there.

This was my early morning 6 o clock study today.

If you attempt this study please be aware that you have to copy the reference for your audio submission from the test portal and this is available at the BEGINNING of the session after your demographic details and not at the end!

Please don't make the mistake that I did and look for it at the end, as it will not be there and you will not be able complete the study.

My fault for not reading the instructions thoroughly enough, but I had to complete a second session to get the reference number :)

    Monitoring and Metrics at work

    By uq.edu.au

You will be answering questions about your experience of having your performance and behaviour at work measured and monitored.

Requirements: You must be 18 or older, and work full-time in a permanent job with an organisation of more than 100 employees.

You must work in an organisation that formally records your performance using performance measures or metrics

I have completed this particular tick box exercise a number of times over the years from different researchers and it never gets any less tedious.  The most completed one is likely the working from home study which pops up regularly, but is not as tedious as this one.

With that in mind, it was good to see a reasonable reward being offered, so full marks to the researcher for that and was good to see, as of late there have been a lot of underpaying studies appearing for me. :)

I had this one earlier this afternoon, except that "numerical questions" was replaced by "checking questions" and consisted of a list of pairs of addresses, passwords, email addresses etc some of which matched and some of which didn't.  Same study name and researcher.

The most annoying thing was that my wifi was having a sulk and it took quite a while to go from screen to screen, and a bonus had been offered for the fastest person to get all the questions right.
