    A study about reflection

    £1.50  5 minutes £15.70/hr

Says 5 minutes initially, when you open it it says 10-15 minutes, then next page it says 10 minutes, and it actually took less than 3 minutes.

Had a good one the other day, £3 for (it said) 20-25 minutes but actually took under 10 minutes. The study involved watching a sequence of letters presented one at a time and pressing a key to indicate whether the letter was the same as or different from the immediately preceding one. If you got them all right (which I did), there was a £5 bonus for a total of £8, very nice for under 10 minutes work.

I had one like that some time ago, but in that case you had to say whether the letter was the same as the one before last - which is much more difficult than it sounds!  Fortunately there was no bonus on that one, because I would certainly not have earned it.

Yes, I kept expecting it to get more difficult as the task went on, by asking me to match letters 2 or more steps back, but it didn't. Maybe some people got a more difficult version and I was just lucky!

Cant believe how little some of the prolific studies are paying recently this one was dull and boring and seemed to take longer than 14 minutes although I for some reason thought it was a 4 minute survey but realised my error when it went on and on

I agree.  I also managed to get a survey rejected because of what I believe to be poorly written English - with a double negative, so I did what I believed they wanted.  And it took much longer to complete than the estimated time frame.  Not sure it is worth my time complaining or arguing in these instances.

I have been offered this too (by email as well as on the Prolific site) and have ignored it.  It is showing as £1.25 for 26 minutes,  £2.79 per hour, with 173 places remaining.  I don't know why there are now more places than there were, but it's far too low-paying to undertake.

I've done it - I didn't notice the pay til the end and have reported.
Just to say i don't think it took me 26 minutes and its very well suited to this forum - its all about deciding which debts to pay off within a budget! There's a lot of arithmetic but simple enough.

  • I completed this too must remember to time my surveys ( unless cleverer people will tell me that it will be shown somewhere ?) easy enough just lots of arithmetic!
