i see people post these studies but i dont see them on my prolific, guessing these are selected for certain people on how theyve filled out their about me?

They are looking to cover specific demographics, and that will vary with each study. Age, class, race etc. For some they want full time workers, for other they may want part timers. 
Just answer the questions honestly and the studies will come.
