Morning - I've just returned to Prolific after a long gap and it all looks very different. I seem to be getting quite a lot of 'connection error' messages in the middle of surveys - is this common or just today - or maybe just me! I've had to refresh a survey this morning several times to be able to move on to subsequent pages.
Thanks

We will end up paying for it with smaller rewards imho; they are not going to be out of pocket, I think, but it is good news. I too am sick of waiting for pennies to cash out; now we don't have to. Thank you, Chrisv.
ETA: I just began to cash out and it still says it will go to Circle so we still need to update the payment method to PP in our profiles, it seems. Sorry if this was obvious to everyone less technically challenged than me but PA's blog says they have removed Circle as an option. They have not.0 -

They have removed Circle as an option - if you try and cash out to Circle then Prolific won't let you and will ask you to choose another cash out method - but of course they can't automatically switch you to Paypal because they don't know that you have Paypal!
Given that Circle is still fully functional until 8th July, it's a premature move that's pretty annoying given how simple and easy Circle is :mad:Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Thanks, Merlinsbeard, I agree with that. Circle's email said it does not "die" until 8th July so why PA have removed the option now, I don't know. Then, who knows why they do many of the things they do? I suppose we should be grateful they have done anything at all to mitigate the situation (whoever ends up paying for it)
P.S. I did not get that far with the cash out as I am still programmed to wait until I hit £20. I am also fed up with getting only that + pennies because it takes so long for me to get there at all. I actually have more than pennies pending for once and would like to cash out £21, just for a change.0 -
I wonder, from time to time, whether some researchers read this thread... Cashing out now and thank you very much.
:cool:
How long does it take to get to your PP account?0 -
I cashed out via PayPal yesterday evening and it arrived in my PayPal account this afternoon, so presumably PA are still doing Tues/Fri payment processing, although hopefully instant payments will still be possible after making 3 cashouts.0

:doh: Gods! I am such an idiot! I thought I had read that PP is instant. Why would it be when PA pay only twice a week and I have almost certainly missed today's?
Thank you, Vintage. I have not used PP for years so have no idea what I am doing and wish Circle were still an option. I could just about cope with them.
Grrrr. Why could bloody Circle not just leave things as they were? !!!!!! is "cryptocurrency" anyway? I can't see Tesco's accepting that any time soon.0 -
I too am sick of waiting for pennies to cash out;
It would be nice if payments less than 50p had to be authorised in perhaps a week. I think it's a bit much when the researcher holds out 24p for 21 days.
I still think Prolific is one of the best sites. They're so much more honest about the time v reward and I've never been screened out having actually completed a survey.Saving a house deposit. Member no.7 100% of target
