Ah great ok thankyou for your reply, I'll be a bit more patient0

However, when you start it is very important to complete the entire set of profile questions in About You. I didn't realise they were there, and was really puzzled when I didn't get any studies to complete!

Just so as you’re aware you have to keep checking the page regularly because surveys tend to go very quickly - Within minutes. You don’t get email alerts as you do with other surveys unless it’s one that’s been hanging around for awhile. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
MollyR said:I had three yesterday. One for 60p, completed no problem, awaiting review. One for 50p, got taken to the home page of where the study should have been hosted; messaged researcher; no reply; returned study. Researcher later replied, apologising and saying it was her first study on Prolific, and asked me to try again; carefully explained to her that after returning a study one cannot just open it again, and that if I had not returned it I would have been timed out by then. Recommended Prolific's Help pages. And the third study (Robot Perception by Imed Ben Nasr for 60p) gave a page with brief instructions, then a page asking which of three answers was appropriate to what I had been told (none was; and if it was an attention check it was in total breach of Prolific's rules) and when I selected one answer option the survey terminated, without any complaints but without any completion code either. I immediately messaged the researcher to tell him. Shortly afterwards I received a message saying that my participation had been rejected "Finished the study too quickly". I responded protesting bitterly that he should not land me with the permanent black mark of a rejection just because his study was not working properly. I got no reply, and lodged an official complaint with Prolific, for which I got an acknowledgement. Hopefully they will remove the rejection; in the past they have done, although it takes a long time.So yes, I had surveys; but for all the good they did me I might as well not have done!I will complain officially to Prolific tomorrow and appeal the rejection. Hopefully, more people have also flagged up this study.1

I had been on the waiting list for Prolific for months, but I finally got approved yesterday and I've completed all of the 'About You' questions.
So far so good, I've done 4 studies in total now and have nearly £5 pending. Here's hoping for some higher paid studies....

You'll get a lot of studies to start with, just because you are new and what Prolific call "naive" - in other words, not an experienced study taker. Just remember that Prolific is different to other survey platforms, in that these studies really can inform academic research, and it is crucial that you give truthful answers and not just the answers you think they want to hear!

I'm finding, recently anyway, that studies are very few and far between, and when one does land on my dashboard it's gone in seconds. Having real trouble building a balance! I have £9 odd pending but would obviously like it to grow. I did well (at least, I feel like I did) in Nov and Dec but so far Jan very dry. Being new to this, is this typical for the Christmas to New Year period? It's been a bit frustrating tonight - my laptop has been on idle for about 4 hours and I have only managed one measly survey.Debt @ LBM 01/11/24 - £14,161.59Debt current - £10,845.80

There’s always peaks and troughs. Sometimes it’s a quiet time of year, sometimes it’s because your demographic just doesn’t fit, sometimes it’s because you’ve had a spate of surveys so their algorithm rules you out for a little bit. You have to expect some tumbleweed periods to come along. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Got a message from Prolific wishing me a happy New Year and saying that available studies should be picking up next week. I also managed to snag a few AI studies earlier this morning. They went very quickly though.0
