  • ^ you’ve done the right step getting your UTR. I then simply filled the self-assessment form out online as you are self-employed. It was much easier than expected.

I'm struggling because some of the information I am trying to enter on line is not being accepted.  Will ring HMRC again tomorrow.  At one part I was being asked for information on P60 from Prolific.  Confusinginly I was (no explanation) asked to delete "Prolific Studies" from my form.

    Will ring HMRC again tomorrow.

UPDATE 31 December 2024.  I telephoned HMRC this morning and a very helpful lady there helped me.  It took fully one and a half hours and, eventually, after she had checked several times, the online form was abandoned.  For some reason the system would not work and she definitely did her best.  Some relevent information on the form was repeatedly rejected.

Although it will involve a delay she is going to send the form by post and I will check it, sign in two places and return the form by Registered Post.

Thank you very much to everyone who replied.  Although I had no way of knowing, the online form was never going to "submit" for me.

  • That’s strange, I could enter it all without any problem. Hopefully they can help! Although their hold times are ridiculous

You don't have to do it on the phone - you can use the web chat facility, and when the bot answers just insist you need to speak to an advisor.

Anyone been having trouble cashing out? I have not tried to cash out but the cashout button is not showing instead I am seeing this message
Sorry, it looks like your cashout is taking longer to process than usual. Please wait a few hours, and if you're still seeing the same message, then contact support and we'll look into this for you.

Despite sending 3 emails no response.
Just wondering is anyone else seeing this.

I just did a cash out without any issues.
  • Thankyou Snowhyte for letting me know.
They got back to me yesterday and said they would look into it for me, its strange why I am seeing that message.

The audible notification stopped months ago, but I do still get the on screen popup, and the little icon on the toolbar shows the number of surveys available when it checks every couple of minutes or so.
I’m still getting an audible notification plus the pop up and number icon. Never lost these features.

Interesting. I'm using Windows 11 and Firefox what are you using?

I also have Chrome on my machine for the surveys that don't work on Firefox, but I've not heard an audible notification on that for months either.
