Virginmoney regular saver - unable to open due to very poor service

I’m looking to open a regular saver on the 23rd Feb. Should I book an appointment now or is it a bit early?0
-
I went into the Birmingham one today just after 12, branch empty, about 5 minutes wait and they opened the account for me without fuss and even gave me a cup of coffee - no appointment. Good customer service I found. Just need to whack the money in tonight and good to go for a year.
Next is the Nottinghamshire BS one to try but might make an appointment for that as I am over that way for a sport but don't live nearby
Nasqueron, can I ask how, as I thought it was an "in-store" account only, with no online access ?0 -
"in-store" account only, with no online access ?
Once set up, you can pay in by faster payment/standing order.0 -
Thanks xylophone, that is good news. I decided not to open the account after being told it could only be opened and managed in-store/face to face.0

As above, account was setup this lunchtime, I simply transferred the money in to get the January payment and put a standing order for the first of the month
One thing to note, the regular saver thread says the max you can put in is £3250 but my paperwork says £3500. Moot now as you can only do 13 payments of £250 but if they do another issue it might be possible.
I don't see the issue with it being opened in branch only, you won't get better than 3% at the moment for a non-current account linked regular saver. After the period ends in January you can close it in branch (they move the cash to a 1.15% regular saver in the mean time) and could open a new one.Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I assume this is the new one nobody knows anything about. Cept you.
It is never too early as the rest of us usually can't be dealt with immediately. You'll be OK if the new one is announced on the 23rd.0
